Go Bavarian in Gay Leavenworth, Washington – 2TravelDads

Go Bavarian in Gay Leavenworth, Washington - 2TravelDads

Even though Leavenworth may not be a legit Bavarian settlement, the German culture paired with the Swiss and a few Scandinavian influences and everything else alpine make it a wonderful getaway to feel like you’re in another world. These are the best Bavarian activities in Leavenworth to get into the spirit of Oktoberfest year-round and to have a great trip to Washington’s favorite small town.

If you’re not too interested in the Bavarian/German fun that’s available, there are plenty of other great things to do in gay Leavenworth to enjoy on your getaway to Eastern Washington. Whether it’s summer or winter, you’ll have a great trip!

Gay Leavenworth, The Bavarian Hub of the PNW

I love telling the story of Leavenworth, Washington because it’s remarkable, and it’s not just “Oktoberfest needed a home in the Pacific Northwest.” It’s much more interesting and unusual than that. A logging boom town in Eastern Washington, Leavenworth started to fail and its economy crumbled as the timber industry changed and moved away from the area. Not wanting Leavenworth to turn into another ghost town like so many others in Washington had, the town pooled their resources and hired a marketing firm to help them out.

Nomadic Boys: Finding Mongolia’s Only Gay Bar

Hanzo - Mongolia's only gay bar - Nomadic Boys

For as long as I’ve known my crazy Stefan he’s always been harping on about Mongolia.

He spends hours reading historical fiction about the Genghis Khan dynasty or watching documentaries about Kublai Khan. Although it was the Netflix Marco Polo series (starring the very handsome Italian actor Lorenzo Richelmy) that created Stefan’s ultimate wanderlust for the land of the Mongols and therefore inspired our Mongolia trip.

We visited Mongolia during our big Asia trip in July when the famous Naadam Festival was taking place. This is the Mongolian Olympics, but instead of taking place every 4 years, it happens in July. It’s the country’s biggest event with a dramatic, colorful opening ceremony before the focus turns to the three traditional games featured in the competition: horse riding, wrestling, and archery.

Hanzo – Mongolia’s Only Gay Bar

We must have spent around 25 minutes walking up and down those ugly Soviet blocks looking for Hanzo, Mongolia’s only gay bar. There was no signage, nothing recognizable anywhere to help us locate it.

Visiting Utah’s National Parks – Dolly Travels

Visiting Utah's National Parks - Dolly Travels

Visiting Utah’s National Parks

Days are flying by as we’re visiting Utah’s National Parks, and each day is packed with visions of beauty, rugged country, incredible rock formations. I am running out of adjectives to describe this marvelous southern Utah country.

On Sunday, we visited Bryce Canyon, which has been my favorite National Park so far, due to the colorful, magnificent rock structures. As you can see, by the dark clouds above the canyon, soon it began to rain. It rained hard for about 15 minutes, let up enough that we could take a walk on a short trail, then when it started to rain again, we drove to a different point.

We left the park not long after I took this picture, due to the rain. If I ever get a chance, i will visit this park again. The next day, we headed toward Capitol Reef National Park. Along the way, we traveled through an area with another slot canyon, not as long as the one we visited a few days previously, but impressive, nonetheless.

Chateau du Gue aux Biches – Normandy Gay B&B

Chateau du Gue aux Biches - Normandy Gay B&B

Normandy Gay B&B In A Historic Chateau Near Bagnoles

The history of Chateau du Gue aux Biches goes way back but Albert Christophle implemented the biggest changes after he bought the place in 1868 as a hunting lodge. He was the Minister of Public Works in France and the creator of the town of Bagnoles. He was also the mayor and initiator of the very well-preserved Belle Époque neighbourhood of the town.

In 2017, we bought the château and have worked purposefully to renovate it into a Normandy gay B&B, respecting the history and the original details to bring it back to its former greatness. In August 2020, we moved permanently to France to pursue our dream and create a unique home where we look forward to welcoming you as our guests.

Bagnoles is a famous spa town in France. As far back as the Middle Ages, there are tales of the healing hot springs in the town and today there is a large spa that attracts guests from all over Europe.

Gay St. Petersburg – The Nomadic Boys

Gay St. Petersburg - The Nomadic Boys

Everything you need to know to plan your vacation to gay St. Petersburg in Florida: gay bars & clubs, queer events, places to stay, travel highlights, and more…

St Pete is the thrilling hub of west Florida. We’ve visited several times and always left with smiley faces wanting to return for more. It offers everything you would want – a super friendly vibrant LGBTQ community, glorious beaches, an exciting gay scene, and home to the largest gay Pride event in all of Florida.

St Petersburg also receives over 360 days of sunshine each year and has rightfully been nicknamed “Florida’s Sunshine City”. And wherever the sun shines is a place the gays want to be, which is why many people from across the United States head to St Pete to make it their new home.

Everyone Loves Gay St. Petersburg

Perhaps the stand-out reason why we love St Pete so much is the vibe. Everyone is so friendly and warm here. No one ever seemed to be stressed out and we were only ever met with smiles – from the many (straight) people on the beach offering to take our romantic sunset pic (“awww guys you’re so cute!” – they said to us) to the rows of rainbow flags that proudly line the streets of Downtown during Pride.
