Captain Grant’s is a haunted Connecticut gay friendly B&B on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1754 and is fully restored to accommodate the modern traveler. We are centrally located to the area’s main attractions. We are between Foxwoods and the Mohegan Sun Casino. Mystic is a 15 minute drive through the gorgeous country side.

The Inn sits on four acres of lawn and is perfect for a wedding or special occasion. On the grounds is a large fire pit that is meant for guests to use. We contribute the wood and a fire starter. All rooms have a full private bath. Each room has a carafe of sherry. Wine, beer, soda, cake and cookies are complimentary offered in the dining room. A full country breakfast is served each morning.

The Inn has been featured on several TV shows. The latest was a series on Netflix called “28 Days Haunted”. We have also been on the BBC, Travel Channel, HGTV, and A&E. The history of Chateau du Gue aux Biches goes way back but Albert Christophle implemented the biggest changes after he bought the place in 1868 as a hunting lodge. He was the Minister of Public Works in France and the creator of the town of Bagnoles. He was also the mayor and initiator of the very well-preserved Belle Époque neighbourhood of the town.

In 2017, we bought the château and have worked purposefully to renovate it into a Normandy gay B&B, respecting the history and the original details to bring it back to its former greatness. In August 2020, we moved permanently to France to pursue our dream and create a unique home where we look forward to welcoming you as our guests.

Bagnoles is a famous spa town in France. As far back as the Middle Ages, there are tales of the healing hot springs in the town and today there is a large spa that attracts guests from all over Europe.

Our neighbors have names like Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, Pileated Woodpecker and Swainson’s Warbler, and our night is lit by stars, not neon. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating allows for admiring nature in four distinct seasons. 

The Inn’s five large guest rooms are decorated and named with inspiration from Pisgah National Forest surrounding the Inn. Each have their own private bath.
