Located Down East in Maine, This gorgeous outdoor area is pretty big and complicated to plan for. From where to stay near Acadia to hiking and water activities, there’s a lot to consider before your visit.

The 2TravelDads’ Guide to
Visiting Maine’s Acadia National Park

Located in coastal Maine, the park is very different from other NPS sites you might visit. Unlike Yellowstone National Park, Acadia is broken into sections with roads, towns and harbors between them. It’s more similar to Olympic National Park or John Day Fossil Beds (the Painted Hills) in that there are multiple park units.

Visiting Lesbian Helsinki in the Winter
The Ultimate Travel Guide

If you’re planning a memorable trip to lesbian Helsinki in winter, you’re in the right place. In this guide, I’ll share all the best things to do in Helsinki in winter, plus all of my top tips for visiting during this time.

Overlooking the Baltic Sea, Helsinki is one of the most underrated cities in Europe. Bursting with abstract architecture and innovative art, it’s also one of the most futuristic and unique.

While Finland’s capital is an exciting city all year round, winter in Helsinki is a magical time. It’s cold, of course, but so long as you are prepared, it can be one of the best times to visit.

Crowds are fewer, prices are lower, and the Helsinki winter scenery is a dream. Not to mention all the exciting winter activities in Helsinki that make this one of the best winter city breaks in Europe.

Super Cool Geology in Mammoth, California – 2TravelDads

Super Cool Geology in Mammoth, California - 2TravelDads

Check Out Some Super Cool
Geology in Mammoth With the 2TravelDads

Mammoth Lakes, California has so much cool geology to experience. It’s a great ski and hiking destination, but there are lots of hot springs and earth phenomena that make the region itself a fascinating place to visit. A trip to Mammoth Lakes is a lesson in geologic time and science!

I love being a geology nerd. Geology rocks! We incorporate as many scientific activities and sights in our travels as possible. It’s one of the ways we make sure the learning continues, either during summer break or when we pull the kids from school for travel. The geology in Mammoth Lakes are AWESOME for either sightseeing or learning. Here are eleven spots to experience earth science at Mammoth.

My mind is blown when I think about geologic time, and one of the coolest things about visiting Mammoth Lakes is how visible it is there. Geologic sites abound and you can literally see moments in time and the progression of geologic history. California’s mountain towns, like Mammoth, are built very near some of the most active parts of the earth’s crust. I love it!

Walking Tour of Gay Lima – Keep Calm and Wander

Walking Tour of Gay Lima - Keep Calm and Wander

Take a Walking Tour of Gay Lima and See The Sights

This walking tour in Lima will last 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. That’s what we did. Though there are a few “free” walking tours in the historic district, we opted to do it ourselves because we had the whole day to explore the area and didn’t want to rush. We wanted to take it slowly, on our own terms.

Lima is a bustling city and the world’s second driest capital, next to Cairo. Most often, Lima is where most tourists/visitors land on their way to fulfill a bucket list – Machu Picchu! Staying for three days in Lima is ideal – enough to explore the historic district, Barranco, and Miraflores neighborhoods. And maybe, a day tour to Huacachina and Paracas.

On our first day in gay Lima, we started at 9 o’clock in the morning. On our way to Plaza San Martin, we encountered locals in their costumes. We didn’t really know what was going on, but I think they shot a promotional video for the upcoming Independence Day or something.

Visiting Gay Milan, A First Timer’s Guide – The Nomadic Boys

Visiting Gay Milan, A First Timer's Guide - The Nomadic Boys

Visiting Gay Milan, A First Timer’s Guide

Followers of UK/Canada Drag Race will relate…one of our favorites drag queens always inspired a sort of spiritual gay wanderlust to the Italian fashion capital.

And for good reason. Gay Milan is world famous for its fashion. It’s a global capital when it comes to its runways and catwalks. What we didn’t know is that Milan also has a pretty epic gay scene – the largest and best in all of Italy and one of our favorites gay friendly cities in Europe.

Hop off at the Puerto Venezia metro stop, dolled up with rainbows, and head up to the streets around Lecco – gayness is everywhere! On weekends these streets come alive as the LGBTQ community comes together and creates a fabulous street party. That’s why we love it. Few gay scenes we’ve experienced have such a vibe outside of Pride.

Gay Bangkok for First Timers – The Nomadic Boys

Gay Bangkok for First Timers - The Nomadic Boys

Our guide to gay Bangkok 2023 has all the information you need including the best gay hotels to stay, gay bars, where to play and practical safety tips.

Gay Bangkok Guide for First Time Visitors

“OMG Stefan, we almost hit that car…I can’t…I’m going to keep my eyes firmly closed! Just let me know when we’ve arrived safely at Stranger Bar while I pray to the gay gods for safe passage…”

Nothing beats the rush of adrenaline as we whizzed through the CRAZY traffic jams of Bangkok hanging on for dear life inside a cutesy tuk-tuk with its driver smiling at these two hysterical giggling foreigners in the back…

We both love it – the feeling of the humid, almost putrid air hitting your face as you swerve from one end of the street to the other, car horns manically beeping at each other.

We’ll be frank, Bangkok is by no means a pretty city. Our initial reaction on our first visit was: what a hot mess! It’s polluted, it’s dirty, rats compete for space on the busy pavements, the traffic is mad, and concrete blocks line the streets as far as your eyes can see.

Exploring Gay Williamsburg With Kids – 2TravelDads

Gay Williamsburg With Kids - 2TravelDads

Exploring Gay Williamsburg, Virginia With Kids

Living history is something we LOVE experiencing together and Colonial Williamsburg is THE spot for it. A part of what’s called the Historic Triangle, This historic village is basically a snapshot in time, just before the start of the Revolutionary War. Visiting gay Williamsburg with kids is wonderful because it gives them a real life understanding of America 300 years ago, and visiting as adults is both educational and just a beautiful, relaxing time.

While it might not seem like it initially, Williamsburg is actually a big vacation destination / resort area. From glamping in a yurt at the KOA to staying at the Historic Williamsburg Lodge, you’ll find the full gamut of hotels and accommodations.

If you plan it properly, you can even arrange to stay within the historic preservation area. At the Brick House Tavern in Colonial Williamsburg, you can rent rooms, just like in its tavern days of the 18th century!

Two Weeks in Lesbian Malaysia – Our Taste for Life

Two Weeks in Lesbian Malaysia - Our Taste for Life

2 Weeks in Lesbian Malaysia – The Best Malaysia Itinerary

2 weeks in lesbian Malaysia is a good amount of time to appreciate all this beautiful country has to offer. In this guide, I’ll be sharing a recommended two-week Malaysia Itinerary, including the best places to visit, where to eat, sleep, & party, as well as all of our top tips for visiting.

When it comes to the best South East Asia travel destinations, Malaysia is a country that rarely makes the hotlist. Sure, it might not be as wild as Thailand or as trendy as Bali, but after spending quite some time backpacking in Malaysia, I can confidently say that it is fiercely underrated.

The thing we love most about Malaysia is its diversity. It is a cultural melting pot, and the multi-ethnic influence of Malay, Indian, Chinese and European concocts a culture (and cuisine) unlike no other in the region. There’s also an abundance of things to see and do. From pulsating urban cities and charming heritage towns to sweeping rainforests and pristine islands, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
