As most of you know…. all the buildings at the Artists’ Loft Inn were completely destroyed by the great Cedar Fire of 2003 in San Diego County.

The fire moved in on the afternoon of October 28th with a fierce fire tornado that took down five of the neighboring homes as well as ours. The local plants and wildlife suffered even more. We were lucky enough to escape with the seven cats, a few material things, and our love of the mountain.

We have rebuilt, and our new gay friendly Julian vacation rental loft is a special retreat for two to four persons, with views from the peaks of the Cuyamacas to the islands off the coast of Southern California.

We’ve also taken a new approach to the bed and breakfast, and offer a private loft for working artists to use as they like.

Rass Mandal was built by a direct descendant of the daughter of King Akbar of India, sister to Shah Jahan who built the Taj Mahal.

It was also featured on HGTV’s House Hunter’s on Vacation with initial airing on June 22nd 2012.

Upon entering the home you encounter a large domed circular living room complete with a fireplace, eastern antique furniture and beautiful views looking out to a pool. This space is ideal for group sessions, gatherings and entertainment. Off to the left of the living room is the dining room and kitchen area. The dining table has room to accommodate 12 and is a great area for entertaining and formal meals. The kitchen is open plan and has a Moroccan style fireplace and a very comfortable breakfast nook ideal for bird watching. Behind the kitchen is a queen size bedroom and a bathroom, secluded from the rest of the house with its own private entrance.

Welcome to the Nest B&B in Boulder, Colorado, in the beautiful Front Range of Colorado. Our cottage, The Nest, is a private separate dwelling behind our house, with its own guest access.

The Nest is a converted garage – in an earlier life, it was a pottery studio and a retreat space. Our Boulder vacation rental has pine floors, an attached bathroom with tiled shower and a new dual heating and air conditioning unit. There’s also a small patio, yours to use and take in the fresh mountain air. There’s an umbrella festooned with lights and chairs too, making it perfect for eating outdoors, or for enjoying your morning coffee or take-out.

The cottage comes with a television with Netflix, and also includes free Wi-Fi access in your room.

We’re a smoke free property, and we also use fragrance-free and plant-based cleaning products.
