Visiting Gay Zurich – The Nomadic Boys

Visiting Gay Zurich - The Nomadic Boys

The Nomadic Boys Visit Gay Zurich – And Tell About It

Zurich. A city so organised, so efficient, so perfect in every way, it is said to run like clockwork.

Enter the Nomadic Boys: two ditzy, calamity gay guys descending upon the city, with their mouths agape, and disrupting the peace entirely. We were two pink peas in a pod!

We quickly had to get used to how “operational” gay Zurich was. Like reminding ourselves that when a bus or a train says they are leaving at a specific time, they meant there are actually leaving at that time (as opposed to the time being a gentle guideline like they are back home!).

Once we got into the rhythm of the city, we fell in love. There’s the classic architecture, the mild-mannered people, the mouth-watering food, and of course, a plenitude of chocolate.

The only drawback is – how darn expensive it is! Our first night there we both audibly gasped when we opened our menus – and it wasn’t because the place didn’t serve margaritas… Other than that, there is so much to love and gush over. And we’ve laid it all out down for you below.

Visiting the Oregon Cascades With Kids – 2TravelDads

Oregon Cascades With Kids - 2TravelDads

We love our road trips, you know that, and living in the Pacific Northwest, we’re at the gateway to some of the best road trips in the United States. Oregon is our neighbor and we visit it a lot, but it’s rare that we really explore the south part of the state. This is our Oregon Cascades with kids road trip that takes the best of the Cascades and pairs it with the coast. This road trip itinerary is ideal in Spring and Summer and is great with kids!

Visiting the Oregon Cascades With Kids

When we found out we were heading to the southern part of the state, we knew two things: the Umpqua National Forest and the southern coast are going to be fun and drastically different. The Cascade Mountains run from British Columbia to Northern California. They’re dotted by snowy peaks and dense forests, which when put together make for an epic collection of waterfalls. Doing a road trip with kids, we knew that we needed to pack in some big wow items, and beautiful waterfalls always do the trick.

Gay Patagonia – The Nomadic Boys

Gay Patagonia - The Nomadic Boys

These are our top gay Patagonia highlights including our favorite parts of this region of Chile and Argentina.

Ready for the best trekking adventures of your life?

Patagonia blew our minds. Very few places in the world can match the incredible landscape in places like El Chaltén or Torres del Paine. We had some of the most rewarding trekking adventures here and would happily return for more. And it gets better – the region also has so much wildlife to discover, like the Magellanic penguins in Chubut or the orcas in Puerto Madryn, to name a few!

Patagonia is a vast chunk of land that sits on the southern end of the South American continent, split between Chile and Argentina. It includes a mix of landscapes including the Andes mountains, lakes, fjords, glaciers, desert, steppes, and ocean – Atlantic on one side, Pacific on the other.

We spent a month traveling across gay Patagonia focusing on the Chubut region and Santa Cruz in Argentina, then in Torres del Paine in Chile. To inspire your Bucket List, we’ve put together some of the best Patagonia highlights and experiences from our trip here.

Best Cancun Mayan Ruins – 2TravelDads

Best Cancun Mayan Ruins - 2TravelDads

Some of the best Mayan ruins near Cancun are also the easiest to access. We’ve picked the best Cancun Mayan ruins to visit on the Eastern Yucatan Peninsula, to add to a fun, interesting Caribbean Mexico vacation.

One of the most cool and unique aspects of touring the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico is the abundance of Mayan ruins. The Mayans were spread all across the Yucatan and down into Belize, Guatemala and beyond. They left behind thousands of small and large structures on the beaches and in the jungles. Having spent many days exploring the Yucatan Peninsula, these archaeological sites are some of the most fascinating things to do near Cancun.

Photographing Cancun Mayan Ruins

Spending a whole day going from ruin to ruin is tiring, so it’s best to plan your days visiting just one per day. This is where you have the opportunity to plan your itineraries to get the best lighting at each of the archaeological sites. Low light, meaning light coming from a lower point in the sky, will give the best shadows and prevent each of the Yucatan Mayan ruins sites from being completely washed out in your photographs.

“This one,” he replied, pointing right at me.
“Gee… thanks.”

Don’t you just love being objectified by your own partner?

Europe Lesbian Winter Hotspots – Our Taste for Life

Europe Lesbian Winter Hotspots - Our Taste for Life

A winter city break in Europe is the perfect way to escape the cold-weather blues. Sure, it’s still chilly in places, freezing in fact. But I’ve come to realise that the season can be a truly magical time of year. In this article, I’ll be listing 16 of the best European city breaks that I guarantee will have you falling in love with the season like never before.

Until a few years ago, you would never hear me say anything nice about the season. Winter and I were not on good terms. It was cruel and harsh and unforgivable. It was only when I travelled full time that I began to appreciate the beauty of all the seasons.

European Lesbian Winter Hotspots

Sri Lanka Whale Watching in Mirissa – The Nomadic Boys

Sri Lanka Whale Watching in Mirissa - The Nomadic Boys

Here’s everything you need to know about Sri Lanka whale watching in Mirissa – a great spot for seeing the elusive Blue Whale.

“Stefan I’m feeling so drowsy and dizzy!”

You also would after having taken a couple of seasickness pills, but it’s totally worth it.

Whale watching in Mirissa, Sri Lanka involves going out on a boat on some pretty choppy waters – prime ground for seasickness. The result? We saw two blue whales, several dolphins, and even a pair of turtles mating! Not bad for our first ever whale-watching safari…

All About Sri Lanka Whale Watching

Mirissa is located on the southern tip of the island, and is where the whale watching tours start out from thanks to the many blue whales heading to these waters to feed. Scientists have noticed that the waters around Mirissa are particularly rich in plankton (a group of microorganisms that whales feed on), so Blue Whales (and other kinds of whales) are attracted to the destination. These charming giant marine animals have made this town so famous that it is now an internationally recognized place for seeing these beautiful sea mammals.

The Burgundy – New Orleans Gay B&B

The Burgundy - New Orleans Gay B&B

NEW ORLEANS GAY B&B NEAR THE FRENCH QUARTER

Your host at The Burgundy, Joe Blurton, invites you to make his home your home in Gay New Orleans. We are a small and cozy New Orleans gay B&B in the Marigny District, just a short walk to the French Quarter.

Come enjoy Louisiana hospitality at its best, as your host caters to your individual wants and needs! He is a native Louisianan and can guide you to many local sites and attractions, including restaurants, shopping, music clubs and gay bars.

We have renovated and converted from the 1890’s Eastlake style shotgun double to the b&b. Almost everything in the house is original, including the 8 (not working, formerly coal-burning) fireplaces, the hardwood floors, the 12 foot ceilings (a few of which have original plaster medallions and crown moulding), the louvered shutters, as well as the doors (including two sets of pocket doors) and windows.

Our Top 5 Gay Winter Travel Spots

One destination worthy of the title of ‘Winter Wonderland’ has to be Stockholm. We visited the city during October when it was very cold indeed! However, once we wrapped up and headed out to explore we quickly learnt why so many people love Stockholm.

The city is very unique sitting on over 14 islands which practically guarantees that you get to experience beautiful views wherever you look.

Combined with the fact there were so many things to do to keep busy (see our 48 hour winter itinerary), an incredible selection of restaurants and an easy going, well integrated gay scene, we can’t wait to return and see more.
