B&B WITH POOL IN THE DORDOGNE
Le Domaine de La Millasserie is a gay-owned B&B with pool in the heart of France's Dordogne region, the ancient province of the Perigord.
Our large guest rooms offer king beds, dining tables, comfortable chairs, and an armoire and dresser. Each room also has an en-suite bath, private balcony and entrance, and easy access to the pool.
La Millasserie is close to everything the Dordogne has to offer: gorgeous architecture, amazing French food, local music, art and antiques, historical sites, and a variety of sports: hiking, cycling, canoing, and even boat trips on the Dordogne.
La Millasserie is just twenty minutes from the Bergerac airport and in easy driving distance to the many medieval towns, villages and cities of the region including
We're also close to all the chateaux of the Perigord.
Your hosts, Alain Pioton and Byrne Fone, met in the USA in 1978.
Alain is from Bordeaux, and opened Alain Pioton Antiques in 1982 in Hudson, New York - the first antiques shop in Hudson. For more than twenty years he sourced antiques from France.
Byrne, a Professor at the City University of New York, taught 18th Century English and 19th century American Literature. He also offered one of the first courses in Gay Studies in the US. He has written several books, including The Columbia Anthology Of Gay Literature and Homophobia: A History. He is also the author of four novels, including Achilles: A Gay Love Story, and American Revolution, a detective novel about the first gay US President.
Alain and Byrne have been visiting France since they met, and in 1989 they bought a house in the Perigord for vacations and as a base from which to source antiques for Alain's gallery. In 1999 they sold that home and bought La Millasserie. In 2008 the moved to France on a permanent basis and opened the B&B.
La Millasserie is adult only. We offer free parking and wifi internet access. Pets are welcome - please contact us first for details.
"We have been fortunate to have become a popular destination for guests from The US, the UK, Europe, and beyond. In the spirit of Gay hospitality we welcome gay and gay-friendly guests to La Millasserie."
