ROMANTIC B&B IN HISTORIC CAPE MAY
Welcome to Bacchus Inn, a charming sea-side B&B in Cape May's historic district. Your hosts, John & Lisa, are happy to share their Cape May B&B - we're right next to boutique stores, great dining, and the beach.
Bacchus Inn B&B has two buildings - our cottage and our main house - which together offer thirteen guest rooms. Each guest room includes:
* in-room air conditioning / heat
Some guest rooms also have fireplaces and televisions - please ask for one of these when you book.
We provide a full breakfast every morning, and have coffee brewing first-thing in the morning. We also offer an afternoon wine and cheese service.
Most of our guest rooms have on-site parking, and there are bicycles for guest use. We also have beach chairs and towels, and wifi to help you keep in touch with friends, family, and work back home.
Bacchus Inn is named after the Roman god of wine, the son of Jupiter who taught man how to cultivate grapevines and how to create wine. Bacchus represents not just wine, but wine's social and beneficial influences.
You'll find the wine theme represented throughout our Victorian inn. Relax with a glass of wine in our Victorian parlor or on our porch, or play a game of billiards with your partner or another guest.
The "Main House" was built in 1872 by a local developer as a summer cottage for a prominent Philadelphia milliner. The house retains a certain historic charm, with a grand dining room and a Victorian parlor. The main house also has an enclosed porch where you can relax in warm or cool weather, and a wide, open porch where you can relax in a rocking chair and enjoy the sea breeze.
The main house has nine guestrooms, filled with period antiques and modern amenities, each named for a different wine region, including Bordeaux and Tuscany.
The "Cottage" was built in 1878, and has two porches on the ground floor - a front porch with rocking chairs and a side porch with three small cafe tables. There's also a sun deck on the 3rd floor. The cottage offers four guest rooms, each named for a different wine, including Chardonnay and Zinfandel.
