The Bear-Naked Chef and the Scruffy Italian Launch a Gay Tour!

Bear-Naked Chef and Scruffy Italian Traveler

Ready to be part of the sexiest gay tour in Italy of the year? The Scruffy Italian, that is me, will be joined by one of the hottest chefs alive for the sensational Culinary holiday of the year, in Italy of course. Because, as Madonna says, Italians do it better!

The heel of the boot of Italy, Puglia, is without a doubt one of the sunniest and most lively parts of the country, famous for its food, beaches, breathtaking landscapes… and hot men! Join Italy Gay Travels, that is the travel company I run, this October for an exclusive Luxury Food and Wine Gay Tour.

Puglia is home to some of the best cheeses (does burrata ring a bell?) and wines in Italy. Primitivo and Negroamaro are the talk on everyone’s lips. On our Gay Tour for the Foodies you will become a connoisseur as well as getting a little tipsy too! Puglia is also one of the biggest producers of Olive Oil in the World: you will learn about the secrets of olive oil production (at the time of olive harvest) by the masters of the trade.

Gay Brighton II – The Scruffy Italian Traveler

Gay Brighton As you already know, I love this fun and lively city in Southern England by the sea: I love it also because of its fun gay life. Yes, Gay Brighton is a place not to miss if you are interested in keeping all the points in your Gay Licence! All of the life of Gay Brighton happens in the very center of the town: the gay scene is not hidden, but embraced and welcome in this little English Town. And there is fun for any tastes and at any time of the year or the week! Most of the bars are located on or around the so called Gay Brighton Village, in the area called Kemptown, comprised between St James Street on the North, and the Marina on the South. These are the 5 top features you can’t miss in Gay Brighton according to Scruffy Gios! Gay Brighton – Official Nudist Beach Yes. Gay Brighton has an official naturist beach! Where is it? You don’t have to walk too much or look for some hidden hints to find it: the official Nudist Beach is right in front of the town, on the Marina, walking distance from the Pier. In Summer you can easily reach it by using the Volks Electric Railway from Brighton Pier: get off at the Black Rock station, and walk about 5 minutes (back towards Brighton) to find the nudist beach.

Gay Brighton Beach – The Scruffy Italian Traveler

Gay Brighton Beach Honestly I did not know Brighton at all before moving to the UK 5 years ago… shame on me! But once I discovered it, heeeeck! I fell in love with it. Gay Brighton Beach is a lively city in Southeast England, right by the sea. It is conveniently located south of London, in the East Sussex County. It is very easy to get to Brighton from the amazing British Capital which as you know I love so much: you can take a train from London Bridge or Blackfriars in about 1 hour you are right on Brighton Beach! Brighton is also very close to Gatwick airport, so if you happen to have some connecting flights and time to spare in your hands, head to Brighton and enjoy some lovely Pink time. Why should you know about Brighton and why I love it so much? Because the town throws one of the best Gay Prides of all the United Kingdom. Plus, Brighton Beach is one of the gayest cities of Great Britain, all year around!

Corfu's Naked Beaches

Corfu - Sergio Scardia Corfu is a beautiful green island in the Mediterranean, as you already know if you are avid readers of my blog. The island itself is pretty big, almost 600 Km², which make Corfu the 7th biggest island of the whole Greece. The total coast surface is 217 km, so you can imagine there is plenty of great beaches all around the island to choose from: Corfu comprises over 120 beaches! I didn’t have time to explore them all, although I wish I had. But, as per my custom, I asked the locals which beaches were unmissable: here you can find my very own list of the 3 nudist beaches not to miss if you happen to visit Corfu. Nudist Beaches of Corfu – Issos Beach Issos is an idyllic beach on the southwest coast of Corfu; that part of the island is dominated by golden sandy beaches and shallow turquoise waters. And of course Issos has these features plus something more: it is by far one of the best nudist beaches of the entire island!

Gili Air – The Scruffy Italian Traveler

Gili Air - The Scruffy Italian Traveler I had such a great time on the beautiful island of Gili Air! I enjoyed spending my day just doing just what I like to do the most, which is chillaxing 🙂 This is how my typical day on the island looked like. As soon as I woke up, after a refreshing calm night sleep, some fresh water on my face, just a bit of fruit to break the night fast, I was out for a good 1 hour jogging around the island before the heat hit too strongly (the island is very small, so in less than one hour you have been running all around it). Soon after, a refreshing shower in my open air shower overlooking the ocean! a super powered breakfast soon after; a refreshing dip into the ocean; relaxing on the beach; plenty of coffee and fresh fruits during the day; drinks at sunset (on the sunset beach of course!); beautiful dinners with fresh fish; and more drinks and good music after dinner. This is life, isnt it? I was not lucky with the weather: I visited in December, when the Monsoon storms hit very strongly the area, so I did not enjoy very much the underwater life. I did some snorkeling, but in all honesty I did not have much luck!

The Nomadic Boys Meet The Scruffy Italian

nomadic-boys-and-gios Stefan and Sebastian are two bloggers known as the Nomadic Boys. They are a gay couple: we met in London a few years ago, and we are friends since then! They traveled all the way from Europe to Asia a couple of years ago and ate their way around Southeast Asia for almost two years. Recently they have relocated to South America, planning to travel around the area for a few years and tell it all in their blog! If you have never bumped into them take a look at their blog and to their Instagram account! They are absolutely gorgeous! Why am I talking about the Stefan and Sebastian? Because when planning my first trip ever around Southeast Asia I took inspiration from their posts… that is how I discovered the Gili islands, which honestly were completely unknown to me! The Nomadic Boys wrote a few months back (you can read their complete reportage here) a complete ironic gay friendly review about the Gili Islands. This review helped me clear my mind and decide which of the three islands to choose for my holidays: they compared the three islands to the Destiny’s Child! The tourism in these beautiful Islamic islands is increasing and each of them is specializing in attracting a different type of travelers: Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air, all equally beautiful, cater to different lifestyles. First of all: Where are these islands located? The Gili islands belong to the beautiful country of Indonesia, and are situated off the northwest coast of Lombok. Lombok is one of the biggest islands of the country, just a short hop from Bali.

Vientiane, Laos – The Scruffy Italian Traveler

Vientiane, Laos I stopped in Vientiane on my way to Malaysia after a tour around Cambodia and Southern Laos in December last year. I arrived in the big Laos capital after spending a few days in the beautiful area of the 4 thousand Islands in the Southern part of the country, where I chilled and relaxed while enjoying its beautiful outdoors! Vientiane lays on the big, beautiful, and quite Mekong river, as quite as the life of the city itself. You can spend plenty of time walking along the Mekong, sipping a drink, stopping for a cafe in one of the many bars and restaurants facing the riverside, having an ice-cream, and still not getting tired of it! As you can imagine, due to its position, Vientiane is a very hot city during the day, which makes this kind of refreshments even more enjoyable! The best moment to enjoy the Mekong river is the sunset: find a nice spot along the riverside, possibly further from the chaos of the city center, and enjoy the best moment of the day! The sun sets down just in front of the river, such a romantic view!

Pulau Langkawi: Heaven Island – The Scruffy Italian Traveler

Langkwai - SergioEvery year over 2 million tourists choose to spend their holidays in the Heaven Island of Langkawi… so how could I miss out? Langkawi is a big island in the Archipelago of Malaysia (Pulau in the local language means Island) on the Andaman Sea: the archipelago counts 104 islands, of which only 2 are inhabited, one of them being Langkawi! The island received the Global Geopark status by UNESCO in 2007 for its diverse and astounding geological heritage. In all honesty I didn’t know Langkawi was a Heaven Island, so popular! It looks like in the recent few years an increasing number of Indians and Southeast Asians are choosing its heavenly beaches for celebrating marriages, Bollywood style, and in general to spend their holidays. I can confirm that without any doubt! I realized it just as soon as I arrived to the pier of Penang, where I had to wait the ferry to reach the Heaven Island of Langkawi: I was surrounded by ordes of youngsters heading to Langkawi to celebrate New Year’s Eve in this beautiful spot.
