A Day On Foot in Gay Paris

Gay Paris - Carlos MeliaHere is my photo album of my entire day walking in gay Paris. I think I have been to Paris at least forty times in my life, and I never seizes to amaze me with it beauty. My day began walking up and down Champs Elysees, when I decided, due to the amazing weather, to visit a local Flea Market to buy a few things for our new apartment in New York.

I asked to the concierge at my hotel, and her recommended the Marche Vernaison at Marche aux Puces in St Ouen. (Metro 4 – Porte de Clignancourt). Since the sun was out and the temperature was ideal, I decided to walk from Hotel de Sers to the flea market, which took me approximately one hour.

After that got back to Hotel de Sers, dropped all my new acquisitions, and headed to Hotel Edouard 7 for a quick walk through of the property, located in Opera. From there I walked to Musee du Louvre, and onward to one of my favorite sites, at the very end of Jardins aux Tuiliers, right before Place de la Concorde where I like to seat with my coffee and just enjoy the views of la Tour Eiffel.

Finally I aimed straight back to my hotel, by Avenue des Champs Elysees, passing by the Petit Palace and one of my favorite buildings in Paris, the Grand Palais. Immediately was intrigued by the Monumenta 2014 Exhibition by Russian artists Ilya and Emilia Kabakov (which between us, was nothing special, except the “How to meet and Angel” room). So I decided to enter, being this – believe it or not, my first time ever inside the stunning architectural wonder. I fall in love with the concentric domes. So beautiful.

This was my last stop and back to my hotel, again by Avenue des Champs Elysees, this time enjoying the sunset right over the Arc de Triomphe. I am exhausted and tomorrow I have a very early morning flight to Puglia, Bari in Italy to continue my adventure.
