Lodge at Butte La Rose

The Lodge at Butte La Rose is a venue in the tradition of the South Louisiana “camp”. Conveniently located 5 miles south of I-10 and nestled in the community of Butte La Rose, the only community in the Atchafalaya Basin. The Basin is the largest wetland in the United States. The Lodge is your home base to launch your exploration of the Atchafalaya and the Acadiana region.

We here at The Lodge want your stay in the Basin to be memorable and relaxing. There are so many things to do and see here at The Lodge, or just sit on the screened in porch, read a book, and enjoy a glass of wine. You can also go sight seeing, shopping, hiking, kayaking, or nature hunting. We can accommodate up to 16 people so bring all your friends or family and pass a good time in the bayou! Make sure you ask Ms Gerri to tell you a Boudreaux and Thibodeaux joke. She’s got a million of them!!

Gay Friendly Louisiana Bed and Breakfasts, Hotels, and Vacation Rentals

Maison des Amis - Breaux Bridge, LouisianaWelcome to Maison Des Amis, our southern Lousiana bed and breakfast. Our gulf coast B&B has four guestrooms, each with its own private bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower, beautiful antique furnishings, and direct access to our wide porch that overlooks the gardens and bayou.

Our guestrooms were designed by famous Louisiana designers Peter Curry, Robert Smith and Joel Theriot, and each spacious room features high ceilings and gorgeous cypress long leaf pinewood floors and original art.

Guests can relax in our glassed-in porch and sunroom. We provide free guest beverages and daily maid service with a personal touch. We can also help you find a great local tour guide or create a tailored tour to meet your personal needs.

Maison Des Amis was built in 1860 as a Creole/Caribbean residence, and is one of the oldest homes in town, with great Bayou Teche views. We bought this historic but abandoned home and restored it to its former glory in the mid 1990s.
