Shorecrest Bed and Breakfast, was voted 'Best BnB on Long Island' by local Channel 12 TV viewers and is rated #1 in Southold, North Fork on Trip Advisor.
Guests love the location in the midst of wine and farm country, just 15 miles west of the Orient Point, Cross Sound ferry terminal, which connects this end of Long Island to New London, Connecticut and all points North on the Easter Sea Board.
They are also attracted to the unique charm of this beautifully restored mid 1860's house, the acre of landscaped gardens, plus our own private beach on Long Island Sound and path to an inlet of Shelter Bay just a few steps away. We are literally surrounded by water!
Modern amenities include new private baths in all the rooms, free WiFi, parking, and flat screen TV's with premium cable. Guest will find complimentary snacks, hot and cold beverages and a bucket of ice available every day until late evening. Enjoy a glass of wine in front of the living room open fire, read or catch up on some work in the library or gather to play scrabble or one of the dozens of card or board games we provide for your enjoyment in our sun filled porch. We offer many perfect spaces to relax alone, for two or if you visit as a family or friends group. Our gourmet breakfasts earn rave reviews as does the hospitality and warm welcome we extend to all our visitors.
And there is so much to do on the North Fork. Great restaurants abound in the nearby maritime village of Greenport and country hamlets of Southold and Cutchogue. There are hiking trails and nature preserves to enjoy, museums, historic districts, lighthouse tours, farms and farm stands to visit, the renowned Island's End Golf course, over 40 wineries, amongst other things.
For visitors wishing to explore a little further afield, a short car ferry ride from Greenport village is Shelter Island, an even more rural area with miles of empty beaches to explore as well as large nature preserves, and country pubs and restaurants to enjoy. On the south side of the island you can take a different ferry to Sag Harbor, the entry point to the South Fork and the famous Hamptons.
