WHEN YOU WANT MORE THAN A HOTEL ROOM

WildSpring Guest Habitat is a small, ecofriendly resort in Port Orford, overlooking Oregon's spectacular southern coast. On five acres of old Native American grounds set in a peaceful, secluded forest of 100-ft trees, WildSpring offers luxury accommodations in a quiet and serene, naturally beautiful environment.

With only five cabin suites built like small stylish homes with radiant-heated floors and vaulted ceilings, and filled with art and antiques, WildSpring will make you feel you're visiting a private estate rather than a hotel.

Cars are not allowed in the cabin area, so the loudest thing you will hear all night is maybe an owl. Sleep to the sound of wind through the trees, and wake up to deer outside your window.

Relax in the Guest Hall overlooking the ocean where you can help yourself to beverages, fruit, popcorn and chocolates(!) at any time. Play a game, fiddle with a jigsaw puzzle or just gaze at the ocean on its expansive deck. And don't miss the breakfast buffet each morning with specially made hot entrees that change each day.

Immerse in the open-air slate hot tub/spa and enjoy whale-watching by day or the Milky Way at night. Wander the walking labyrinth or the sculpture garden, find a hammock or secluded alcove and take a nap. Indulge in an incabin massage (by appointment). Plus thick spa robes, TV/DVD player (with a free library of over 600 DVDs), CD/iPod stereo, WiFi, small refrigerator in each cabin.

A short walk to an uncrowded beach for agates and driftwood, in a lovely small fishing town with art galleries, hiking trails, birdwatching, historical sites and the most westerly lighthouse in the states.

WildSpring is a birding site on the Oregon Coast Birding Trail, a member of the Oregon Coast Bed and Breakfast Guild and they won the Governor's award for Sustainable Travel Leadership in 2013. Best Places of the Northwest gave it their highest rating and Editor's Choice, and it has been recommended twice in the New York Times and USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, Conde Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure, and eight times in Sunset Magazine.

Think of it as nature with four stars.
