BEST B&B BREAKFAST IN USA
"This 1873 Greek Revival house is my favorite B&B in the area. The grounds are perfectly manicured but bloom whimsically. In the afternoon the aroma of baked brie and homemade bread (served during wine hour) waft through the main house and the staff does everything imaginable to make your stay special. The delicious full breakfast - accompanied by Olallieberry jam, of course - is gourmet all the way." - FROMMER'S
The Olallieberry Inn is a romantic B&B in Cambria, a seaside village on California's central coast. Our 1865 home is one of the oldest in town and sits on the banks of beautiful Santa Rosa Creek.
A hundred-year-old redwood greets our guests at the front entry. Lush, colorful gardens are visible from the back deck. Olallieberry Inn offers a peaceful, quiet, private oasis just a short walk from the best restaurants, boutique shops and art galleries. We're also just 10 miles from Hearst Castle and close to Moonstone beach.
Breakfast is an integral part of the Olallieberry Inn experience. Your morning meal is prepared from the finest ingredients and a dash of loving care. The Central Coast is blessed with abundant fruits and vegetables, and we purchase fresh local produce at our Farmer's Market.
* Fresh orange juice
Every evening, we serve Hors D'oeuvres from 5-6 PM along with complimentary wine. Our wines are local and our hors d'oeuvres delicipus.
Cambria and the surrounding hamlets of San Simeon, Harmony, Cayucos, Morro Bay and the local wine regions offer an abundance of great activities that can be enjoyed during a two day or weeklong stay!
Our magnificent home at 2476 Main Street was built by the Manderscheid brothers, Otto and Carl, born in Prussia and arrived in Cambria in 1872. They were Pharmacists, and they ran the town's Drug Store on Main Street. In 1874 they bought the lot from A. M. Hardie, and the following year built the house out of Cambria pine. The Redwood siding came from trees in Big Sur, with the milling done at the local Leffingwell Saw Mill.
The house has been a family home, a boarding house and finally a bed and breakfast starting in 1976. As a B&B, the inn has had four sets of owners.
The inn was recently purchased by California natives Nelson and Maureen Hubbell, and they are currently renovating and restoring the property to its original vintage.
"We're very proud to be part of such an 'old world' historic home and charming community. We're committed to excellence and maintaining the Inn's outstanding reputation as the Best B & B in the county!"
