CLASSIC TRANQUILITY IN BAR HARBOR, MAINE

Welcome to the Maples Inn Bed & Breakfast in Bar Harbor, Maine - journey back to the turn-of-the-century for a bit of the simpler life, and leave the stress of the real world behind.

Originally built at the turn of the twentieth century, our Mount Desert Island bed and breakfast was a retreat for well-heeled summer visitors.

Today, we serve a large breakfast each morning in our sunny dining room - enjoy our culinary treats and meet a few of the other guests staying at the Maples Inn B&B. In the afternoon, we offer refreshments on the front porch in the warmer months and by our blazing fireplace in the winter.

The inn sits on a quiet, tree-lined street in a residential neighborhood, an easy walk to Bar Harbor's charming boutiques, local restaurants, and the sea.

We're also just five minutes from the world-famous Acadia National Park, where you can find outdoor adventures all year - watch the sunset from Cadillac Mountain, or see the waves crash at Schooner Head.

Acadia National Park has more than a hundred miles of hiking trails, including both easy walks and more difficult day hikes. There are also forty miles of carriage roads, perfect for walking and bike riding.

Between late spring and early fall, you'll also enjoy great whale watching, sailing, kayaking, canoeing and many other water sports. If you like a little bit of everything, we can help you fill up an entire week with great outdoor activities here on Mount Desert Island.

There are also a number of terrific day trips, including Blue Hill, Deer Isle, Castine, and the Schoodic Peninsula.

Your hosts know Mount Desert Island inside and out, and would love to help you find all the great things to do and see that Bar Harbor and the surrounding area have to offer.
Looking for the perfect getaway? Escape to Bar Harbor, Maine, and stay with us at Maples Inn Bed & Breakfast on Mount Desert Island.
