The Stone House Bed & Breakfast at the Cornelis Kool House in Hurley, New York, is an early 18th century Hudson Valley Dutch estate, with architectural features dating back to the original Dutch settlement of the New Netherlands. Our Hudson Valley bed and breakfast is quite possibly the oldest house in New York State that you can actually stay in, dating from around 1700.

We’re nestled in the peaceful countryside of the Esopus valley, near the historic village of Hurley, a National Historic Landmark. Our Catskills area B&B ideally situated to explore both sides of the Hudson River, the Shawangunks or the Catskills.

Both Woodstock and Rhinebeck are just an eighteen minute drive away.

Explore the historic Rondout in Kingston or try a river cruise up the Hudson (a ten minute drive), discover the enchanting lighthouse at Saugerties (sixteen minutes), go antiques shopping in High Falls (twelve minutes), or take in a concert at the amazing Fisher Center at Bard College (nineteen minutes). Whatever you’re looking for, Hurley and the Hudson River Valley have a wealth of experiences to offer you.

Ech morning, we serve a a gourmet three course breakfast at the Stone House B&B. Homegrown, local and organically grown ingredients are used wherever possible. Let us know if you have any special dietary restrictions or preferences.

Each room has wifi internet access, a/c, extra fans for those hot summer days, and private, modern, spacious bathrooms (most ensuite). You’ll be welcomed to your room by fresh-cut flowers and views of the grounds and rural landscape.

The Girl with a Pearl Earring room has a large HD flatscreen TV/DVD with digital cable. All roomsEach room includes luxury Frette linens and most have four-poster canopy beds. Rooms are large and uncluttered, and all have tables and chairs, nightstands and chests of drawers/armoires. Some rooms also have sofas.

Out on the grounds of the Stone House B&B, you will find picnic tables and benches, a wooden swing seat, a herb garden and a walk through walnut trees to the Esopus creek below.

Our Hudson Valley B&B also offers a large living room with a library, and games – including a croquet set!. Tourist information, some maps, restaurant guides, and books on hiking and cycling, are provided. And there’s a guest refrigerator, as well as a coffee and tea station, just outside the breakfast room. Homemade cookies are available for your sweet tooth!
