There are many outdoor activities to choose from: Mercer Caverns and Moaning Caverns are close by and there are many lakes and trails to explore. Calaveras County is also known for award winning wineries and there are over 25 tasting rooms on Main Street. Many concerts and events take place at the beautiful Ironstone Winery, where the world’s 3rd largest gold nugget is displayed in their museum.
