Ancient Athens from Philopappou Hill

From the top of Philopappou Hill, you will be able to see the sweeping views of ancient Athens. The hill is named after Philopappou, a royal prince of the Kingdom of Commagene. On top of the Hill of the Muses, you’ll find a memorial in his honor.

The memorial is facing the Parthenon and it is in the highest part of the hill. This only shows the Prince’s rank in ancient Athens.

As you go along the path to the Muse Hill, you tread the same path that the Ancient Greek philosophers, like Socrates, walked on.
