From May to October, pick your own apples, peaches, strawberries, pears and cherries directly from the Niagara Region farms.

The Niagara Region is a wine lovers paradise. Tourists may take guided tours or visit the many wineries on their own. Spend a day biking through the vineyards and dine at casual or gourmet restaurants. Take advantage of the festivals organized by the Wineries of Niagara on the Lake. For special winery events, activities, tastings and dinners held at the wineries, please check our calendar for Winery Events. Take a wine tour and savour the taste of wines from the Niagara Region.

A Girlfriend Getaway in Niagara falls

Author: , May 20th, 2013

Niagara FallsKids, jobs, commitments…trying to coordinate a girls getaway that meets the schedules and budgets of five busy moms from five different cities is tough. Thankfully, my dearest friends and I discovered we didn’t have to break the bank to pack in a fast, fun-filled, wine-drenched weekend.

We spent two nights at a charming little house in Niagara-on-the-Lake called The Artist’s Cottage. It was simple and roomy enough for the five of us (despite a few skirmishes for the bathroom). In reality, it’s a quaint little house with just the basics, not the best choice if you want high-end, upscale accommodations. It was perfect for our low-key approach and tight budget.

A short stroll to the main drag our first evening found us down at The Irish Harp enjoying delicious pub fare, singing touring Niagara wine country along with lively music from the celtic band and more than our share of adult beverages.
