American Airlines First Class Non-Stop BUE/JFK   |  New York, United States  | Back in New York City after and amazing month an a half in Brazil and Argentina. The way back, well on board First Class non-stop American Airlines flight from Buenos Aires to New York City (approx. 10 hours and 30 minutes ). Yes everyone, after an exhausting week planning a Gay Wedding in Buenos Aires, I got on my almost flat bed seat, jump into my AA pijamas, enjoyed a few glasses of White Wine and Champagne, caught up with movies and slept the whole way through to wake up over a great breakfast at JFK. American Airlines Adds Spanish, Portuguese to Gay Portal Site

American Airlines PortalAmerican Airlines today announced that its popular lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Web portal,, now welcomes travelers in two additional languages – Portuguese and Spanish.

In 2006, American Airlines was among the world’s first airlines to design an innovative LGBT website to reach out to travel-savvy and loyal LGBT travelers.

The added languages are intended to connect American with more of its customers throughout the Western Hemisphere and beyond. All three language choices offered are at the top of the page, and travelers simply choose their language preference to access it.

American Airlines Gets Top HRC Score for 10th Year

American AirlinesAmerican Airlines has been honored for the tenth consecutive year by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) with the highest ranking possible in its 2012 Corporate Equality Index. The achievement marks American Airlines as the first and only airline to receive a top score of 100 percent since the survey’s inception, a record held only by a handful of other American companies and no other airlines.

Lauri Curtis, American Airlines Vice President – Diversity, Leadership and Engagement, expressed pride in the company’s exceptional track record: “We know that maintaining our reputation for diversity leadership and inclusion requires real effort. Year after year, securing our top score on the Corporate Equality Index strengthens our hand and sharpens our efforts to raise the bar not only for ourselves, but for all employers, and allows us to keep attracting a world-class workforce, too.”

Gay Friendly American Airlines Files for Bankruptcy Reorganization

American Airlines BankruptcyAMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines, Inc. and AMR Eagle Holding Corporation (American Eagle), announced today that it filed voluntary petitions for Chapter 11 reorganization in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

In a written statement, AMR reports that its Board of Directors determined that a Chapter 11 reorganization is in the “best interest of the company and its stakeholders. Just as with the company’s major airline competitors in recent years, the Chapter 11 process enables American Airlines and American Eagle to continue conducting normal business operations while they restructure their debt, costs and other obligations.

It also reported that American Airlines and American Eagle are operating normal flight schedules today, and their reservations, customer service, AAdvantage program, Admirals Clubs and all other operations are conducting business as usual. Likewise, throughout the Chapter 11 process, American and American Eagle expects to continue to maintain full operations and fly normal schedules.
