Gay Washington DC – Gay Star News

gay Washington DC

One fine summer evening in the American capital last month, I suddenly had the sensation I’d stepped into a TV set. (Or morphed into an Netflix algorithm, suspended in House of Cards cyperspace. Or something. Hey, it’s 2017). My point is, gay Washington DC is so recognizable that, like New York City, it feels larger-than-life, surreal; thus, it never disappoints.

Cruising through the city center in an open top bus, I was bowled over by the iconic buildings and monuments in all their polished, neoclassic glory. The Capitol Building, the The Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the White House: they all stand in harmony, like a perfectly polished set. I felt an urge to replace my typical tourist garb with a matchy-matchy three piece suit, tie and shirt… Washington DC is just smart. In my admiration, I answered a question I’d earlier posed to myself: is it possible to mention Washington DC without talking politics?

The short answer is yes, absolutely. Because it’s exquisite to look at and thrilling to experience – regardless of what, or who, it represents. As such, Washington DC is a true blockbuster destination, which is somewhat surprising given its modest size.
