Over the past century, few entertainers have achieved the legendary status of William H. Cosby Jr. His successes
span five decades and virtually all media, remarkable accomplishments for a kid who emerged from humble beginnings in a Philly project. In the 1960s, his stand-up act was a coast-to-coast sensation, spawning a string of hilarious, best-selling comedy albums, which went on to win eight Gold Records, five Platinum records and five Grammy Awards. His role on TV’s I Spy made him the first African-American to co-star in a dramatic series, breaking television’s racial barrier and winning three Emmy Awards. In the 1980s, he again rocked the television world with the The Cosby Show, a gentle, whimsical and hugely successful series that single-handedly revived the family sitcom (and rescued NBC). With hit movies like Uptown Saturday Night and best-selling books like Fatherhood, Bill Cosby http://www.glynnhouse.com/calendar/#february_2014 is quite simply a national treasure with the unique ability to touch people’s hearts.
Use the romantic Glynn House Inn as your New Hampshire getaway base. Experience elegant surroundings, delicious food, uncompromising service and genuine hospitality. A full gluten free breakfast menu is always available. Bring your favorite four-footed canine pal and reserve one of five pet friendly rooms. View the Glynn House www.glynnhouse.com/ website for other special offers plus additional information about the Inn and local activities.

from Google Maps
New Jersey’s seaside gambling resort is taking its show on the road, targeting partiers in Philadelphia with a mobile nightclub that will bring 300 of them back to Atlantic City to experience the resort’s nightspots. It’s also launching social media efforts to recruit fun-seekers to come to Atlantic City.
The outreach is part of the $30 million annual campaign by the Atlantic City Alliance to promote the resort as more than just a gambling center.
“Atlantic City is a lively destination all year round,” said Liza Cartmell, the group’s president. “These promotions are designed with specific social media components included in order to showcase all that there is to do here even during the coldest months. We encourage visitors to enjoy the indoor pools, spas, restaurants, shopping, nightclubs, entertainment and gambling, and share their experiences over social media with their friends.”

BALCIHWEWE! That’s the sound I make when packing. I don’t know about you, but I always leave packing as one of the last things I do before a trip. I usually scribble a short list down in the few days before leaving reminding me to bring certain things (glasses, baseball cap, PASSPORT!) but I inevitably leave the packing for the last hours before running off to the airport.
While packing for my current trip — my one month studying Spanish in Spain — I actually prepared quite a bit in advance. This was my first “big” trip in a while, and because I knew I’d be living in an apartment in Seville (booked through my study abroad program), I knew I’d need to bring certain things. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from all the times I’ve studied abroad (this is sort-of my third time studying abroad, but it must be my gazillionth time living abroad), it’s the importance of bringing things with you to remind you of home. So for me that’s always meant a bit more planning in my study abroad packing lists.
Packing Tips for Study Abroad Students
Here’s my guide on what to pack when you study abroad, based on all the things I’ve brought with me to Spain while studying abroad at Clic.

YES. THIS IS IT. I am starting 2014 with a BANG!
I celebrated New Year’s Eve in Berlin with friends and now I’m heading to the Arctic Circle to experience the Northern Lights in what could be my most adventurous trip yet.
I AM SO STOKED TO CROSS THIS OFF MY BUCKET LIST. And happily with a great travel partner, Michael.
We flew to Helsinki yesterday with Air Berlin and today I am currently in Helsinki Airport writing this quick update. They have free wifi which is still ridiculously rare in most airports these days.

With the advent of home rental sites on the Internet, including airbnb.com, vrbo.com, vacationhomerentals.com and others, turning your home into a money-making vehicle is literally a breeze. But before you get too excited and start counting your take, it’s wise to size up your property and determine whether it’s a good candidate for the job.
It’s a no-brainer really. Think about what you’d be seeking in a vacation rental. A good location, close to popular attractions. An ocean, bay, skyline or mountain view would be a plus, but at a minimum the property must be in a place where people want to go. It’s got to be super-clean, up-to-date, modern and fully equipped with all of the basics and some special goodies to give that vacation feel – a hot tub perhaps or big soaking tub or best of all, a swimming pool.
No one thinks dreary in the same sentence as vacation, so bright, stylish furnishings will be appreciated (and look great in those all-important photos). Good quality, scrubbed clean appliances (an espresso machine would be nice), fluffy towels and uncharred fresh pots, dishes and glasses are a must. Your guests will be bringing their devices, so high speed Internet is de rigueur.

Of Mice and Men http://www.glynnhouse.com/calendar/#february_2014 is tale is an examination of friendship
and survival based on John Steinbeck’s 1937 classic of two traveling companions. George and Lennie, wander the country during the Depression, dreaming of a better life for themselves. Then, just as heaven is within their grasp, it is inevitably yanked away. The play explores questions of strength, weakness, usefulness, reality and utopia, bringing California vividly to life.
Use the romantic Glynn House Inn as your New Hampshire getaway base. Experience elegant surroundings, delicious food, uncompromising service and genuine hospitality. A full gluten free breakfast menu is always available. Bring your favorite four-footed canine pal and reserve one of five pet friendly rooms. This weekend I will be reporting live from de Ville de Mont Tremblant, in Quebec, Canada. Invited by Tourisme Mont Tremblant and Hotel Quintessence, I will be spending four days, relaxing, researching, reviewing and skiing at this at North America’s second oldest Ski Resort at the highest peak of Quebec’s Laurentian Mountains. For that yesterday I went shopping to The North Face and Century 21, and got my gear ready, I mean, the forecast is 9 Degrees Fahrenheit (-13 Celsius) during the day, so I better be ready.
I found a few great things, like this Ear Warmers with built in speakers, so you can ski or snowboard at your own rhythm and tunes. (regular price USD 30. Century 21 discounted price USD 14). Got a few FlashDry T-Shirts from The North Face (USD 50 each) to stay dry and warm while out. And this AMAZING Wind Stopper performance running pants that you can wear out or under your jeans (USD 140). Finally two pairs of globes, both with iPhone Touch Screen system, so I can snap photos and videos even at the most adverse weather conditions.
Now back to my visit to Mont Tremblant, here is basically what I would be exploring. (JAN 30th to FEB 02nd, 2014). Hotels to stay and/or do Site Inspections: Hotel Quintessence, Fairmont Tremblant and Nature Cabin at Parc National Mont Tremblant. Restaurants to experience: Windigo Restaurant, Patrick Bermand Restaurant, and sEb L’Artisan Culinaire and a very local lunch experience at MicroBrasserie La Diable.
Activities planned: Skiing and Snowboarding of course, and on top of that, Snowshoewing, Dog’s Sledding (wow I haven’t done this since my Arctic experience in Sweden from Kiruna Airport to the ICEHotel). And of course, after all this, some unwinding and relaxation at Scandinave Spa, to enjoy a thousand-year old Scandinavian hydrotherapy tradition… perfect after a full day skiing, don’t you agree?
I will be flying Porter Airlines for the first time, Non-Stop from New York to the Ville de Mont Tremblant. So stay tuned to my blog and follow the minute by minute on CarlosMeliaBlog Instragram. I will also be reporting and representing LGTNetwork – Luxury Gay Travel Network, during my visit.
