Pink Iceland was founded in 2011 by Eva Maria and Birna who shortly thereafter asked one of their friends, Hannes (a.k.a. Sasi) to join the company. Their tiny start-up is now the first and foremost Queer travel, event and wedding planner in Iceland.
Now, having succeeded in their mission Pink Iceland employs seven full time members of staff as well as a few freelance tour guides at any given time. Many things have changed since those first years, not least the clientele which now sees many straight allies of the LGBTQI+ community seeking Pink Iceland’s help with planning their nuptials and/or travels in Iceland. This despite having never lost their queer focus. As Eva (Pink Mama) puts it: “We are proud of who we are and the community we serve. If anyone has a problem with that, we wouldn’t really want to work with them anyway!
We believe in creating unforgettable experiences and lasting memories. We will always try to match, or beat, online prices for accommodation, activities and services, while still offering 24/7 access to a real human being, ready willing and able to assist you with all your needs.

Pink Iceland is Iceland’s only LGBT travel agency and Iceland’s leading wedding planner service.
Pink Iceland operates Pink day tours for individuals and always have small groups, with gay & gay friendly guides and a lot of fun. Pink Iceland also plans weddings for gay and straight couples in Iceland all year round as well as organizing Iceland’s Winter Pride festival Rainbow Reykjavík. Tailor made travel is Pink Iceland’s middle name and the company organizes travel itineraries tailored to your needs. Pink Iceland is the recipient of the 2012 Innovation Award of the Icelandic Travel Industry Association, is a proud member of IGLTA and has received over 115 five star reviews on TripAdvisor.
Pink Iceland’s honesty policy:Pink Iceland is a privately owned company and as such it needs to make a profit. This profit pays the salaries of its staff, the rent, the wonderful and informative Pink Iceland website not to mention copious amounts of coffee for the owners. Most of Pink Iceland’s money is made through commissions. This is how it works: If our guests lets us book their tours, activities, and accommodation we collect a small (usually 10-15%) commission of the price. This basically means that you pay the same price, regardless of whether you book directly – or through us. You may think this might cause us to recommend really expensive accommodation and tours. Not so. We promise to do our utmost to come up with a plan that suits you, and your budget. We would never recommend anything without full confidence and/or personal experience of what’s on offer. Our primary goal is working with and for the LGBTQI community and without the community’s support or goodwill we wouldn’t have lasted six months in the business. It is not least through word of mouth that we grow stronger every day. Our hope is that after reading this you too will ask for our recommendations and advice and/or book your holiday through us.

West Iceland tends to a be a bit overlooked by those visiting Iceland. This means that when you ‘go west’ you often feel like you have vast swathes of it to yourself. West Iceland is home to incredible nature, including two amazing waterfalls called Barnahoss and Hraunfossar, Langjökull Glacier, from where you can go snowmobiling, glacier walking or visit the Ice Cave and finally, Deildartunguhver hotspring, the highest flow hotspring in Europe. If that wasn’t enough, West Iceland is also home to a small farm dedicated to keeping the Icelandic Goat species alive through the efforts of one very strong woman. There are less than 820 Icelandic goats in existence but the numbers are growing, thanks to Jóhanna Bergmann of Háafell Goat Farm, the cast and crew of Game of Thrones who initiated a crowdfunding campaign, and the thousands who donated! Make sure you visit and say hello to Jóhanna and her goats, they’re all very friendly.

Same sex marriage has been legal in Iceland since 2010 and Iceland is the home of award winning LGBT travel & wedding experts, Pink Iceland, combine that with the LGBT friendliness and the breath taking nature serving as the back drop for the ceremony and what you have is the perfect place for a same sex destination wedding.
The wedding planners at Pink Iceland consider themselves extremely lucky to do what they do for a living, getting to share in on the wonderful experiences and create ever lasting memories.
These are beautiful memories from our elopements and same sex weddings in Iceland. Nature, love, simplicity & honesty.
