Sydney Mardi Gras Film Festival Announces 2015 Line-Up

The Ten Year PlanFrom ballerinas to roller derby players, rodeo cowboys to surf lifesavers, and everything in between, the organizers of the 22nd Sydney Mardi Gras Film Festival say they aim to deliver the best in LGBTI cinema in 2015.

The festival will be held at Sydney’s Event Cinemas George Street from Thursday 19 February to Thursday 5 March in 2015.

Film fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of the festival’s full program since the release of ten teaser films last November.

Now the Mardi Gras Film Festival (MGFF) has announced its full medley of classic and contemporary queer films for 2015 hailing from Australia and countries as far-reaching as Philippines, Kenya, and even the very first queer feature film from Sri Lanka.

Program Announced for San Francisco’s Frameline Film Festival

Frameline38 features 214 films from 31 countries; beyond films, our lineup of special thematic programs, dynamic parties, discussions, and other exciting events brings together filmmakers, actors, producers, artists, screenwriters, and movie lovers from here in the Bay Area and all around the world.

In addition to our phenomenal Opening Night, Closing Night, Centerpiece and Showcase films, this year we’re delighted to host a special series of film screenings and panel discussions titled New Storytelling in LGBT Cinema, an exploration of the future of queer film, covering topics of digital distribution, new cinematic approaches to gay history and biography, and the growth and support of queer women filmmakers.

This program is proudly supported by the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences.Given the past year’s dramatic and disturbing changes for queer people in Russia, the Festival will shine a spotlight on LGBT Films in Today’s Russia, including two features, a shorts program, and the documentary CAMPAIGN OF HATE: RUSSIA AND GAY PROPAGANDA, which will be followed by a discussion including filmmaker Michael Lucas and out Russian American journalist Masha Gessen.

The Frameline Film Festival runs from June 19th-29th.

Oxford Pride Announces 2014 Line-Up

Oxford Gay Pride 2014Oxford Pride is pleased to announce the line-up for the Unite The Union Stage at their main event on Saturday 7th June in Oxpens Field. The entertainment runs from 12 noon to 8pm, and includes local DJs Sam Brandon and Matt Postie.

Musician Paula Riordan, and local choir the Thames Valley Gay chorus help to kick off the stage in the early afternoon, supporting Practically Pink and Troublemaker (Pink and Olly Murs tributes respectively). Headliners Rhapsody take to the stage at 5:20pm, bringing a full hour of Queen hits to get everyone up and dancing, and they’re followed by a special appearance from Jo O’Meara from S Club 7.

The Oxford Pride Festival is a 10-day long celebration of lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer life in Oxfordshire. This year, our festival looks at LGBT role models, both within the community, and the wider world. There are the people who have inspired us, driven us, given us the confidence to stand up and be ourselves and helped us to feel comfortable with who we are.

Palm Springs White Party Announces Line-Up

White Party Palm Springs organizers announced many of the entertainers slated to perform the following weekend but stopped short of announcing the party’s Saturday night headliner.

The weekend’s pool parties and dance music performances are expected to bring thousands of gay men to Palm Springs and runs April 8 to 11.
On the lineup:

  • Australian dance musician Zoe Badwi will perform her songs “Release Me,” “Freefallin'” and others at a Friday-night party.
  • Actress and singer Kat Graham and band Jessie and the Toy Boys are set to perform at a Saturday pool party.
