Inn the Woods

Welcome to “Inn the Woods” Bed & Breakfast in Hyde Park, New York. Located central to Antiques, Culinary Institute of America, Franklin D. Roosevelt Home & Library, Eleanor Roosevelt’s Valkill and Vanderbilt Mansion and the Hudson Valley Great Estates Region.

Discover our wineries, trails, pick-your-own orchards, Drive-In movies and the Dutchess County Fair. Convenient when visiting area colleges: Bard, C.I.A. Marist and Vassar. Sitting on the balcony amongst the tree tops you hear a creek rushing over rocks, birds chirping and squirrels running through the leaves.

Breathing deeply you smell the smoke of hardwood burning in the fireplace. The smoke rises through the tree tops and you follow it into the darkening evening sky. The moon and stars are brighter than you can remember. You take another deep breath, you realize you’ve forgotten the rigors of the day and let yourself relax.

In the morning you will rise to the rich aroma of fresh brewed “Inn the Woods” special blend coffee. Then making your way to our sunlit dining room, you find your full breakfast elegantly served.

Macau Tower - Apple Maps

From Apple Maps

Looking for high adventure, unique architecture and dramatic views? EDGE Contributor Richard Frisbie traveled to four countries on three continents to find enough death-defying stunts to satisfy the most jaded thrill-seekers. For everyone else, the breath-taking views and award-winning architecture he discovers are worth the price of admission.

Macau Tower: Macau is a former Portuguese colony on the South China Sea that is now a special administrative region (SAR) of China, similar to Hong Kong. As one of the most visited gambling destinations in the world, some say Macau trumps Vegas! But money is not the only currency when gambling in Macau. You can also take a leap at the highest freefall in the world.

When it was built more than a decade ago, Macau Tower was one of the ten tallest freestanding buildings in the world. Rising from its needle base to the flying saucer-style, glass-enclosed observation deck at the top, the tower offers spectacular day and nighttime views of the surrounding city. On a clear day you can see all the way to Hong Kong — 50 miles away.
