On a Gay Cruise – Gay Star News

Gay Cruise

The Netflix documentary, Dream Boat, follows a cast of gay men aboard their first ever gay cruise | Photo: Netflix

After the recent tragedy on a gay cruise this week, where 36-year-old Joel Taylor, star of Discovery’s Storm Chasers, died of an overdose onboard, I thought I would share my own gay cruise experience. Sadly, the fact someone died of an overdose onboard doesn’t totally surprise me.

I don’t mean to say any gay cruise encourages drug use; they all have strict policies which prohibit illegal drug use. But, while the organizers’ intentions are good, many decide to break the law and sneak drugs onto the ship to ‘enhance’ their onboard experience.

As soon as you board, you’ll find a huge array of activities to choose from. But, where a gay cruise differs from others is by the sheer amount of men on board, of course.

Being on a gay cruise makes you the majority, not minority

You are no longer a minority as a gay man – in fact, being gay is now mainstream. This freedom of self-expression is one of the many reasons that people choose to attend a gay cruise. However, with such a large array of gay men from around the world in attendance, stereotypes begin to emerge and the ‘freedom’ is taken too far.

Gay Danube Cruises – Passport Magazine

Author: , January 3rd, 2018

gay Danube cruises

Just say the words “the Danube” to people who’ve been there, and they’ll sigh longingly, and probably start a word salad of superlatives. The romance and beauty of this fabled river, which flows from Germany all the way to the Black Sea evokes a kind of magic, and justifiably so.

And that alone – plus the fact that you can do this river on all-gay cruises (offered by companies like the award-winning Brand g Vacations) – should be enough to have you running to your laptop to book one.

But just in case, here are a few more good reasons:

1. It has some of Europe’s most exciting and memorable cities, like Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Bucharest. It’s like a sightseeing superstore, except you don ‘t need your CostCo card. (Incidentally, Prague isn’t actually on the river, but it’s the starting point for most upper Danube cruises, so it’s considered a Danube port.)

2. The river runs through so many countries, it has multiple itineraries available, like Prague to Budapest, known as the “Upper Danube”, and Budapest to Bucharest, or the “Lower Danube”.

Cruise With the Nomadic Boys – Three Cabins Left!

Galapagos gay cruise - Nomadic Boys

Fancy visiting the Galapagos Islands with the Nomadic Boys aboard the Passion: one of the most exclusive luxury yachts in the world with an awesome group of gay guys?

You’re in the right place!

Nomadic Boys Do Galapagos

Our first gay cruise to the Galapagos took place in October 2016 and was  such a resounding success, we’re doing it again in October 2017. We’ve teamed up with the highly rated and gay owned Ishpingo Tours in Ecuador to host our second luxury gay cruise to the Galapagos Islands on: 12-21 October 2017.

Spaces aboard the highly rated Passion are limited to 12 people and we expect another sell out in 2017.

And because we love you so much, we’re offering our readers an exclusive 5% discount for this one in a lifetime experience with the promo code NOMADIC5.

The Galapagos Islands are an archipelago of volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean, around 1,000km (600 miles) from Ecuador’s coast. The variety of unique wildlife here not only inspired Darwin back in 1835, it completely captivated our group when we visited in October 2016.

This is one of the few places in the world where you get so close to the wildlife because they are blasé to humans. You’ll be so spoilt, no other safari will be the same again.

SAILORdudes Gay Sailing Adventures – Nude and Clothing Optional Gay Cruises

SAILORdudes Gay Sailing Adventures – Nude and Clothing Optional Gay Cruises

By Steven Skelley and Thomas Routzong

People love to sail and cruise. People love nudist and naturist vacations. SAILORdudes Gay Sailing Adventures combines it all offering nude and clothing optional gay cruises.

We asked René, owner and skipper at SAILORdudes, to tell us more.

How would you describe SailorDudes in one sentence?

SAILORdudes Gay Sailing Adventures organizes fun group sailing cruises (nude and clothing optional) for the gay community as well as tailor-made sailing charters for private parties.

Why is nudism / naturism an important and healthy choice?

Being nude gives a sense of freedom that is experienced even more in nature. A sailing yacht offers privacy, as well the option to explore beautiful and different nature every day of the sailing cruise.

Be it a secluded beach or a clear water bay: gently sailing along beautiful spots and be yourself without being bothered by clothes is, for many, an excellent way of spending an active gay naked holiday.

The guys can sun-bathe nude on deck, swim nude and actually be nude 24/7 unless we go ashore to do some shopping.

What is special about SailorDudes nudist / naturist cruises?

On our SAILORdudes (or SAILORnudes maybe ) sailing cruises that are specifically advertised as nude cruises (as opposed to clothing optional), we expect the guys to share the joy of being naked round the clock (where and when appropriate of course.)

Also, we try to find nice secluded bays to stay overnight as much as possible to enjoy the privacy of our yacht.

Total freedom in beautiful sailing areas with like minded gay naturist guys is the idea behind our nude cruises.

And for private parties that do not wish to join a group, we can also organize tailor-made nude cruises – including a gay, naturist skipper,of course, if needed.

We have a special page about nude sailing cruises on our website: http://www.sailordudes.com/gay-nude-sailing-cruises/

Some general reasons why guys choose to sail with us:
1) We sail out of passion and not because we have to make a living out of it
2) Our prices are the lowest and what you see on the site is what you pay. There are no hidden (booking) fees.
3) We have over fifteen years sailing experience as a skipper
4) Comfort. Unlike others, we do not use the saloon to sleep additional guys on board and use the cabins only
5) We offer both organized group sailing cruises with open registration for singles and couples, as well as tailor-made sailing cruises for private charters with and without skipper
6) Sailing experience is not required
7) Last but not least: our sailing cruises are fun!

Who attends SailorDudes cruises? Is it all ages and body shapes?

SAILORdudes tends to attract sporty guys in the age range of end twenties to forties. We do not exclude other ages, but for each trip we make an effort to bring like-minded guys together to have a good time on board.

This is also and mostly because people share cabins without too much space and privacy as well as the fact that older guys may look for a more relaxing experience whereas younger guys look for more party time. So if a group tends to be younger by average, we will advise other interested guys where the age difference is too high, to join a group closer to their age.

And we do the same, the other way around. In practice, it always works out nicely and the age ranges are not too strict and usually lead to a nice mix of people on board.

What plans do you have for the future?

Keep sailing! Keep sharing my sailing passion with others. Keep meeting interesting people from all over the world.

I have no plans to grow my business significantly. I sometimes hear comments that the more commercial operators go on routine.

For me, organizing just a few trips each year, keeps is interesting and that apparently shows, looking at the satisfaction scores in my guest book that I ask the guys at the end of a trip.

If you are gay and a nudist, naturist or skinny dipping vacation sounds perfect for you, then SAILORdudes Gay Sailing Adventures is the place to look.

You Can Cruise the Nomadic Boys

Author: , January 19th, 2017

Nomadic Boys Galapagos Cruise

The Nomadic Boys are going on another cruise, and you can join them:

“Lift your head up higher Stefan, your upward-facing dog is sloppy again!”

Shakira the Sea Lion pulled no punches with her yoga pupils. She’s one of the 50,000 Galapagos sea lions endemic to these volcanic islands and also part of the welcoming committee when you first set foot on her home land.

The sea lions were our favourite memory from our luxury cruise in the Galapagos. Their curious and playful nature will completely charm you. They love to pose, are totally unafraid, noisy and highly entertaining.

But it’s not only just about the sea lions. There are many other highlights to visiting the Galapagos: giant tortoises, marine turtles, rays, sharks and so many different bird sightings to name a few. Of course doing this on a luxury cruise aboard one of the world’s most exclusive yacht charters is the icing on the cake!

The Passion is the largest charter yacht in this archipelago, offering a 5 star Galapagos cruise. It is 48 metres (159 feet) long, with four decks, including a panoramic sky lounge, a second lounge area with screen for presentations, separate dining room, discreetly secluded spacious sun decks, Jacuzzi, bar and a whole lot more…all for just 12 people! This is exclusivity at it’s best, with a 1:1 ratio of crew to passengers.

Fifteen Hot Gay Cruise Photos From La Demence

Author: , August 9th, 2014

La DemenceWhat do you take to wear on a cruise when you have to pack for: A white party; a uniform party; a sportswear party; a ‘Where Are You From’ party; a Glow In The Dark party; a Drag party and a fetish night?

And that’s not even including the daytime poolside outfits and what to wear when you’re exploring the port cities. Personally, we’re in favor of whip cream canisters (complete with holsters) for any ensemble.

Whether you go for the minimalist approach (surely other cruisers would appreciate a ‘less is more’ motto) or brought a friend to carry your luggage, La Demence Cruise gives you dozens of chances to show off and take it off.

Gay Cruise News: Singapore to Hong Kong in March; Danube River Cruise Report

Author: , February 21st, 2013

Gay CruiseRainbow Tourism reports on a new Atlantis gay cruise in Asia setting out from Singapore on March 31st:

This March 31 – April 11, set sail on the high seas for a fantastic voyage from Singapore to Hong Kong with Atlantis. The premiere agency when it comes to gay cruises, expect to feel the warm breeze of South-East Asia across your skin as you sail through some of the most memorable and pristine waters that the Earth has to offer. Cruising along with a ship full of like-minded individuals as you explore 4 unique countries is an experience like no other. Atlantis specialises in ensuring that each and every participant has the experience of a life-time and this trip will be no different. So whether you are exploring the amazing beaches of Koh Samui or wandering the streets of Ho Chi Minh, Atlantis has got you covered.

Over at Passport Magazine, Matthew Wexler reports on a gay cruise up the Danube River:

The sun has begun to set. It is the “golden hour” when everything (and everyone) looks warm and inviting. The skeptic in me wants to believe that I am seeing the world through Campari glasses, but my inner wide-eyed traveler reminds me that I have just set sail down the Danube River. Flickering tiny villages give way to vineyards built into steep hills that rise out of the riverbed. Cities appear beyond smokestacks and water locks. On board as the temperature begins to cool, men walk hand in hand along the deck and women snuggle under cozy blankets. I am aboard Brand g Vacations’ inaugural itinerary—a privately chartered cruise from AmaWaterways, one of Europe’s leading riverboat operators. The current carries us down river as a piano player’s tuneful musings rise from the lounge below. How I wish this golden hour would never end.

I remember our RSVP Caribbean cruise fondly – there’s something great about being surrounded by other LGBT travelers – a what-if-the-whole-world-were-gay vibe. 🙂
