Diversity Rules Magazine Launches IndeGoGo Campaign

Author: , February 8th, 2014

Diversity RulesOut friend Jim Koury at Diversity Rules Magazine just launched a funding campaign at IndyGoGo.com:

Gay activism is my passion. I am a fighter for equality and have a respect for diversity and acceptance in all forms. Diversity Rules Magazine is my vehicle by which to achieve my mission of helping foster better understanding of diversity and acceptance of the differences in people. Diversity Rules Magazine is a celebration of the diversity of our humanity.

This campaign is important to me for a variety of reasons and your funding will help to achieve the following:

First, Diversity Rules Magazine is making a foray into broadcast media with an internet radio show entitled, “Diversity Rules Magazine on the Air.” There are some costs involved with the show that involve a producer’s time. I would like to expand the radio show’s presence further by expanding the scope of the show in order to reach more people.

Second, Diversity Rules Magazine is a subscription only publication. There are some printing costs involved in its production as well as shipping and other monthly costs that add up through the year. This campaign will not only allow Diversity Rules Magazine to expand further into broadcast media, it will also help to stabilize the publication by providing needed operating funds to fulfill its mission.

Last, the gay press is an important component of society’s social fabric. It is an alternative voice among many but it needs the support of the gay community as well as that of the broader community. It is important to have a presence in a sea of opinions and other publications that seek to disparage the gay community and what it stands for, as well as building up respect for others who are different.

Many “perks” will be offered to attract funding such as free print and digital subscriptions and advertising on the radio show, as well as some advertising “perks” in the print version. Check out the perk list and see where you can fit in!

Having set the bar high with a spectacular event, Supersonic is back on Friday 11th April 2014 and this time round it promises to build on the success of the last.

2013’s much lauded performance by BRIT award-nominated English pop rock band The Feeling, which was reported as the highlight of the city’s social calendar, was enjoyed by all who attended including David Gest and stars from Hollyoaks and Emmerdale.

Entertainment in 2014 will come from a star-studded line-up which will include an exciting headline act, support artists and DJs who are sure to keep the party going until the early hours. In addition, the red-carpet gathering will include a sparkling drinks reception, a VIP tour of the Concorde airline, fantastic gift bags and a four-course dinner with complimentary wine. Vienna’s Life Ball Coming in May

Author: , April 20th, 2013

Vienna Life BallEurope’s largest fundraiser for HIV/AIDS, Vienna’s Life Ball, is coming may 25th. The Advocate reports:

The Life Ball, Europe’s largest (and possibly the world’s most extravagant) annual HIV/AIDS fund-raising party, was dedicated to the element of fire for its 20th anniversary bash. Organized by AIDS Life, Life Ball has raised more than $22 million during the past 21 years for HIV/AIDS projects worldwide through partnerships with amfAR, the William J. Clinton Foundation, the Elton John AIDS Foundation, and UNAIDS. Life Ball 2013 takes inspiration from its theme of “1001 Nights,” uniting the classic Arabian Nights stories with Life Ball’s quest to “save lives with imagination.”

The party goes all night – do you have a ticket?
