Abalonia Inn – Ogunquit Gay Bed & Breakfast

Abalonia Inn - Ogunquit Gay Bed & Breakfast

Periodically we’ll feature one of our properties here to let our readers know about some great gay friendly places to stay:

Located in the heart of Ogunquit, Maine, the Abalonia Inn is a completely renovated 1840 Ogunquit farmhouse converted to a 17 room inn.

The rooms have great period detail with exposed post and beams, wide pine floors, and period detailed furniture.

Our location in Ogunquit is ideal. We are a short walk to the beach, clubs, and entertainment that only Ogunquit has to offer.

Enjoy a walk on Marginal Way, a cliff walk that goes from the center of the village to beautiful Perkins Cove, a working fishing village. You can also enjoy 3 miles of pristine beach, which Yankee Magazine just named the best in New England.

At night, you can go enjoy one of the many restaurants, or have a cocktail at the Front Porch or Maine Street dance clubs. For those of you who love the arts, visit one of Ogunquit’s many Museums, the fabulous shows at the Ogunquit Playhouse, or entertainment at both Maine Street and Admiral’s Inn lounge.

The Abalonia is rich in history beginning with its first owners, Barak Maxwell, the richest and most influential shipbuilder in Ogunquit. In 1940 it was converted to an inn.

It eventually fell in disrepair, and was brought back to life with its current owners in 2012.

Every room at the Abalonia Inn was completely gutted, taking particular care to preserve the historic nature of the inn.

Amenities include a beautiful new saline pool, firepit, wireless internet, and great common areas. Each room has a refrigerator, either a king or queen sized bed, and a large 32″ LCD/LED television. But by far, our biggest amenity is our in-town location.

If you’re looking for an historic inn with a modern flair, come stay with us at the Abalonia Inn in Ogunquit, Maine!
