A GPS-Powered Travel Encyclopedia & Giveaway – Globetrotter Girls

Author: , January 22nd, 2017

Most of us spend quite some time reading about our next destination. We have to read through tons of articles before we find the right information. Then you finally discover some great tips and exciting suggestions, only to end up totally blanking out when you reach your destination. Don’t you wish you had your favorite articles or blog posts along? You can, of course, bookmark them, but what if you can’t find even the faintest bar of wifi anywhere in range? What if your mobile connection comes with a pocket draining data plan or, worse yet, you have no roaming at all? Sometimes you can afford to spend hours or days doing your homework, printing out your articles or blog posts and maps. When you finally get there, you realize finding your way is still too hard and time-consuming. Don’t you wish there were a simple solution to your problem? Well, there is one! It’s called GPSmyCity.

What is GPSmyCity, you ask? It is a travel encyclopedia app that offers not just a huge amount of travel information, but also GPS navigation. The travel articles available through the GPSmyCity app have been transformed to include the coordinates of the attractions mentioned by the authors, offline digital maps, and GPS navigation. So, if you want to visit a hidden gem mentioned in a travel article, by simply tapping a button, you get the detailed travel route from where you are to the destination plotted on an offline map.

New App for Gay Athens and Mykonos

Author: , August 18th, 2014

Greece Gay Travel AppGreece is the word. It’s no secret that some of the Mediterranean’s sexiest men and women can be found throughout Greece. And what better way to track down all of the hottest spots than with the first gay travel guide mobile application for Athens and Mykonos? Developed by Aris Giortinos and a team of dedicated locals, it is now available at the Apple Store and Google Play.

The travel app includes more than 250 points of interest with in-depth reviews, photo galleries, links, contact information and maps. The traveller can explore the best gay bars and clubs, gay beaches, cruising spots, saunas and other points of interest.

“The main advantage of this app is that it is the first gay travel app (for Athens and Mykonos) created by locals who actually live the gay scene all year long,” says Giortinos.

Musement App – Skip the Museum Lines

Author: , April 9th, 2014

Musement App

If you love art and you’ve travelled to Europe before, I’m sure you’re very familiar with this scenario: waiting in long lines just to get into some of the best attractions and museums in the world, probably even waking up really early just to try to avoid the queue. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Meet Musement

Positioning itself as the go-to booking site for museum and cultural tours, Musement seems to be the next big thing in travel. Priority access? Skipping the lines? Immediate confirmation? It promises to let you indulge in your art and cultural cravings and discover unqiue experiences around the world in just one click.

The team behind it just launched a free Musement app two weeks ago. I quickly checked their website and I got a bit excited because I saw that they are currently offering a lot of artsy and cool stuff in major European cities and the US. I’m sure you guys would love this as much as I do.

Author: , April 8th, 2012

Wsup Now AppJust in time for Easter Weekend, Wsup Now is making it easier to fill your basket with the best gay and lesbian events available. Wsup Co., the company behind WsupNow.com, today announced the release of the first comprehensive gay and lesbian event finder app for the iPhone. Like the website, the Wsup Now app serves as a gay and lesbian event discovery tool, providing locals and tourists instant access to hundreds of LGBT-related events nearby, with just a tap.

“Easter provides the opportunity for a different spin on what you normally expect with gay events. It was also an opportunity for Wsup Now to announce our new iPhone app, to help our users discover local events and instantly feel as they’ve experienced completely unique.”

New Gay Travel App Bump Covers Gay Cities Around the World

Author: , April 28th, 2011

Antwerp BumpFrom the producers of the world’s most watched gay and lesbian travel series and Canada’s most successful gay TV show export along with the support of the Ontario Media Development Corporation, comes a spunky new multimedia app series for smart phones: Bump! Travel Guides.

Download a Bump! Travel Guide and you’re good to go to any one of 13 gay-friendly destinations: Amsterdam, Antwerp, Barcelona, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Miami, Montreal, Mykonos, Paris, Puerto Vallarta, Rio de Janeiro, Sydney and Tel Aviv. The Guides feature saucy videos, top travel tips and big pride events, all packaged in a sleek and sexy design for Blackberry, iPhone and iTouch.

“Our mobile guides stand out because they offer a visually rich experience, are wickedly fun and can get you into all sorts of trouble, if that’s what you’re looking for,” says Les Tomlin, Executive Producer of Bumper2Bumper Media, the company behind the Bump! television series and mobile guides.

Bump! Travel Guides promise to keep people updated and connected to the local scene. “Keeping things fresh and current is critical, because in the gay market businesses tend to come and go more quickly than in the straight market,” notes Tomlin. And with a handy feature for rating local hot-spots, travelers can also share their experiences and shout out their favorites.

“People on the road don’t want a hundred choices for what to do, where to go or when to party. They want the top 10 choices and that’s what we offer – a chic and crisply edited selection, based on destinations we know best,” says Tomlin. And for tourists who may want to support GLBT establishments, the Bump! Travel Guides specifically identify International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association member businesses.

Packed with multimedia, Bump! Travel Guides offer video clips from Bump! TV, pictures, GPS maps, one-click phone numbers and links for the best places to eat, shop and party, average temperature and currency info – and a “Play” feature for more fun. The apps will also provide contests, promotions, prizes and sponsorship opportunities.
