Author: , August 18th, 2014

Greece Gay Travel AppGreece is the word. It’s no secret that some of the Mediterranean’s sexiest men and women can be found throughout Greece. And what better way to track down all of the hottest spots than with the first gay travel guide mobile application for Athens and Mykonos? Developed by Aris Giortinos and a team of dedicated locals, it is now available at the Apple Store and Google Play.

The travel app includes more than 250 points of interest with in-depth reviews, photo galleries, links, contact information and maps. The traveller can explore the best gay bars and clubs, gay beaches, cruising spots, saunas and other points of interest.

“The main advantage of this app is that it is the first gay travel app (for Athens and Mykonos) created by locals who actually live the gay scene all year long,” says Giortinos.

What is it? Musement allows you to easily find and book museums and art exhibitions, handpicked tours, great things to do, tickets to attractions, city passes and much more in lots of major cities around the world. It’s basically the travel app for art lovers which was just released 2 weeks ago (yes bitchezzz you heard it first from me). iPTown AppA smartphone app to help guide visitors to Provincetown, Mass., has debuted. And it isn’t an ordinary travel app – ‘Useful Information’ depicts Ernestine, the Lily Tomlin’s telephone operator who made “one, ringy, dingy” a classic skit.

Provincetown went digital with the iPtown app to help visitors and locals find services, food and lodging, shopping, special events and happenings around town. The app offers hundreds of links to individual business and attraction webpages, and it integrates its functions with social media. “iPtown” also will connect users directly to businesses via phone.

Seven Great Summer Travel Apps

Author: , June 12th, 2012

Open TableOpenTable — OpenTable lets you make reservations at more than 13,000 restaurants in the U.S., Canada, and abroad, and shows you what reservation times are available before you put in your request. You can also read diner reviews and view menus, both especially valuable when traveling.

HotelTonight — This app could save you from spending the night on the airport floor should a summer storm ground your flight. It works equally as well for those on a road trip or travelers inclined to book getaways at the (very) last minute. One important note about HotelTonight is that it’s good for same-day hotel bookings only.

Friendthem — is a revolutionary location-based connectivity app, with fine-grained and easily-configured privacy controls, which is changing the way the world connects in a seamless and fun manner by helping them send Facebook friend requests to people they meet in the real world. A great tool for connecting with people you meet along the way.

TripIt — TripIt links to your e-mail account and picks up every confirmation number that comes into your inbox. Any flight, hotel, or even dinner reservation that contains a confirmation number will be put into an organized itinerary, all in one place. Flight delays and last-minute changes sent to your e-mail will be updated automatically.

Google Translate — If you’re headed anywhere outside the English-speaking world, chances are this app will come in handy on your trip. Even if many of the people in your intended destination speak English, they really prefer if you take a stab at it in the native tongue.

XE Currency — XE Currency is a useful tool for converting money from all over the world, helping users to better understand just how much cash they should expect to receive in the event of an exchange.

Flight Aware — There is nothing more frustrating than making an hours-long commute to your airport only to find out your flight has been delayed for half a day or cancelled altogether. You can track flights with amazing maps, and receive real-time info on departure info, delays and gate assignments.
