Dolly - ParisFRANCE: Dolly Travels – Bonsoir de Paris
by Dolly Goolsby
I simply must write to let everyone know that Frank and I arrived safely in Paris this morning. We left Sacramento at noon yesterday, flew to San Francisco, then flew directly to Paris, arriving here at 10:30 this morning. Fortunately, we had first class seats, so our meals and drinks were very good, and plentiful. I loved that I could actually lay flat to sleep, although I didn’t sleep very much. We had a good flight, but what a weather change, coming from California and our lovely 80 degree days, to a very windy and chilly 53 degrees here in Paris this morning. We took a bus from the airport to the Opera district in Paris, then a taxi to our apartment here on Rue Cler. The owner of the apartment was here to greet us, and even gave us a lovely bottle of wine to enjoy during our stay.

Riga PrideLATVIA: EuroPride 2015 will take place on Russia’s doorstep!
by Briand Bedford, Spartacus
EuroPride – one of Europe’s main, annual LGBT events, inaugurated in London in 1992, will be hosted this year by the city of Riga in Latvia and will coincide with the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This EuroPride marks a historic occasion as it is the first EuroPride to be held in a post-Soviet country on the EU’s Eastern border with Russia. The Latvian capital, Riga is located only 300 km from the Russian border. The local increase in tension, resulting from the Ukraine crisis, is very evident in the Baltic States. We’re seeing a massive military build-up in the Baltic states as NATO launched one of its largest-ever military manoeuvres last June in the three Baltic states and the United States recently started deploying a 3,000 strong infantry unit in the Baltics, with over 100 armed vehicles. The NATO forces will hold a three-month exercise with the local armies in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

Carlos Melia - Mexico CityMEXICO: Eating Out – Mexico City
by Carlos Melia
You know me most for lavish gourmet experiences, which I did plenty at Dulce Patria, Rosetta, Quintonil and Anatol, but I do greatly enjoy eating like a local, away from the award-winning restaurants and chefs. During my recent visit to Mexico City, I went out of the beaten path and enjoyer more than one option… La Casa de las Enchiladas. Located on a corner just across the street from the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City in the district of Reforma. This was my first stop on my first day arriving to Mexico City. I was craving for a great enchilada, and indeed I found it, while killing some time before my meeting at Four Seasons Hotel. Mercados sobre Ruedas. aka Market on Wheels in Polanco. This organic open market and bazaar, usually takes place on Saturday mornings, and you will see lots of locals flocking to the stalls on the streets, to enjoy a true Mexican breakfast. At Mercado sore Ruedas, everyone seems to walk the gourmet red-carpet.

Jean ClaudeTRAVELING IN OUR FABULOUS GAY WORLD: Meeting People When Traveling and Becoming Friends
by Don and Ray
In the past 15 years we have traveled to almost every State but Alaska and North Dakota. We loved seeing the Statue of Liberty, the Grand Canyon, the Golden State Bridge, the mountains in Colorado, the ocean beaches and tall buildings and everything else, but it is the people that we have met in our travels that is what we cherish the most. We have met literally hundreds of people. Most we knew we would meet and never be in contact again while others we knew that we would see when we returned to their area or perhaps when they were traveling where we were. Then there are those that we really bonded with as friends and have stayed in touch with either weekly or monthly via email or facebook or other social media. We would see them at least once a year if not more than that. Their lives were very meaningful in our lives and we cherish their friendship. When you do meet someone that you really bond with, whether Gay or Straight, keep the friendship going and going and going.

Expedia Includes Interracial Gay Couple in Sweepstakes

Author: , March 27th, 2015

Expedia Lesbians

Expedia Gays

Expedia, the online travel-booking and planning website, together with VisitBritain again showed their positive stance on marriage equality and LGBT rights. Expedia, in promoting a contest to win a romantic trip in the UK, posted a photo of an interracial gay couple with the caption “Enter to win a romantic trip for two to Great Britain!” on both their contest’s main website and on their Twitter page.

Their main page also includes a happy lesbian couple strolling through London. The inclusion of gay couples among a string of opposite-sex couples on a romantic trip, is a step forward in gay marketing. Despite the usual social-media haters, the response has been overwhelmingly positive with users touting the company for their “balls” to include an interracial gay couple.
