Gay Newcastle

The Globetrotter Guys Visit Gay Newcastle

Few UK cities conjure up such a distinct visual image as Newcastle. Think Newcastle and you will immediately start picturing buzzing and vibrant nightlife, the iconic Angel of the North statue, brown ale, and of course the people and their super friendly geordie accent.

But what about ‘gay Newcastle‘, what is on offer for LGBTQ+ travellers here?

For months we have been saying we want to explore more of the UK, and so when we were given the opportunity to travel to and spend a few days in this North East capital, we jumped at the chance!

As always, we couldn’t wait to explore and learn all about ‘gay Newcastle’ – but we were also very excited to explore this popular city in general.

We had a fantastic time, and were surprised by both how thriving the gay scene in Newcastle is, as well as the scope of sightseeing options and activities available.

Finding Brighton’s Gay Beach – The Globetrotter Guys

Finding Brighton's Gay Beach - The Globetrotter Guys

Brighton is one of the most popular LGBTQ+ beach destinations in the UK with its open and welcoming atmosphere, plenty of bars, clubs and exciting activities to do – it also holds one of the biggest and best Pride celebrations in the UK.

How to Find Brighton’s Gay Beach

With all that going on, it is fair to ask ‘is there a gay beach in Brighton?‘… Yes, like many popular queer destinations, there is an unofficial gay beach in Brighton.

We say ‘unofficial’ as technically this is the official naturist beach and it therefore comes as no surprise that has become Brighton’s gay beach. When we visited it was a quiet day but it was still clear to us that this place attracted other gay travellers.

Visiting Gay London – The Nomadic Boys

Visiting Gay London

Gay London. The greatest city in the world. One of the most exciting places to live in with THE best gay scene you’ll ever come across. FACT! Of course, we’re totally biased! London was our home for decades and the place where we met – back in February 2009 in the bar in Soho…

But setting aside our biases, this is truly a terrific city. It’s so eclectic, home to many different people from everywhere in the world. There is always something to do here at any time of the day. The museums are grand, iconic, and are nearly all free to enter. All of the world’s best musicals feature on the West End and cost a fraction of the price of a show on Broadway.

And then there’s the gay scene. It’s massive! Yes, we see more and more businesses close shop due to gentrification, but the city still retains its pink shine, with an abundance of queer hangouts spread out all over this mega city.

The 25 Boutique Bed & Breakfast – Torquay Gay B&B

The 25 Boutique Bed & Breakfast - Torquay Gay B&B

Torquay Gay B&B – Officially the Best B&B in the World!

The 25 Boutique B&B was created from scratch by hands-on owners Andy & Julian Banner-Price in 2015. They literally went back to the brick and now have a fabulous bed and breakfast in Devon on the south west coastline of England with five individually designed boutique bedrooms.

Each room at this Torquay gay B&B, whilst very different in design and layout, comes with an array of luxury features and extras like Elemis toiletries, a large comfy bed, Nespresso coffee maker, bathroom TV, Smart room controls via Alexa, daily home baked treats, fluffy robes and slippers, air conditioning and many more.

As a gay couple, Andy & Julian know how difficult it can be to find somewhere you feel comfortable and relaxed. Whilst the majority of their guests are straight, many are regular guests and it’s a friendly atmosphere. You’ll be greeted on arrival by Andy and Julian who have no staff and do everything themselves and be offered a welcome drink along with Andy’s famous chocolate brownies. As the English Riviera is famed for its temperate climate, you’ll hopefully be able to enjoy these on the sun terrace, but if not there’s a drawing room for guest use too which also houses the honesty bar.

Bedruthan Steps Camping in Cornwall – Our Taste for Life

Bedruthan Steps Camping - Our Taste for Life

If you’re thinking about Bedruthan Steps Camping in Cornwall, you’ve come to the right place. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about camping at Bedruthan Steps, whether you have a tent, a campervan, or a caravan.

Bedruthan Steps Camping is Gorgeous

Carnewas at Bedruthan Steps is one of the most picturesque coastlines in all of Cornwall.

Cinematic cliffs tower over jagged sea stacks, while the magnificent Atlantic ocean stretches as far as the eye can see.

We only planned a brief stop-off here during our Cornwall road trip. But the views were so incredible that we decided to stay close by to enjoy them some more.

We found that the choices for camping near Bedruthan Steps are pretty limited. However, we did find a couple of campsites in the nearby area, as well as a few options for wild campers.

I’ll be covering it all in the blog post, alongside all the best things to see and do in the area.

Best Isle of Man Restaurants – Our Taste for Life

Best Isle of Man Restaurants - Our Taste for Life

Eating out is one of my favourite things to do in the Isle of Man. When I moved here two years ago, I’ll admit, I was slightly concerned about the culinary scene. Coming from London, I have always been spoilt when it comes to the choices on offer. And while I’d only consider myself a moderate foodie, my palette does have relatively high standards.

With this in mind, I had to make it my mission to find all the best Isle of Man restaurants to avoid the dreaded FOMO. Thankfully, this small, unassuming island has surprised me as it continues to do with many things. In fact, I’ve found plenty of gems on the island that would satisfy even the most sophisticated of taste buds.

So let’s get into it; here are my 30 top restaurants on the Isle of Man.

30 Best Isle of Man Restaurants

Douglas is the islands bustling capital, so it makes sense that most IOM restaurants, pubs, and nightlife concentrate in this area. Most people who visit the island stay in Douglas for this reason.

1.  Barbary Coast

Barbary Coast is the island’s answer to Nando’s, TGI Fridays, and Five Guys, all wrapped up into one. Other than McDonald’s, we don’t have any of the UK chain restaurants on the IOM. So naturally, local restaurant entrepreneurs look to create a copycat.

Best Isle of Man Beaches – Our Taste for Life

Best Isle of Man Beaches - Our Taste for Life

You’re never too far from a beach in the Isle of Man. From the popular tourist haunts to the secret little coves, I know them all. And in this article, I’ll be sharing 15 of the best Isle of Man beaches so that you can check them out for yourself.

Finding the Isle of Man Beaches

One of my favourite things about living here is the endless glorious beaches. Rain or shine, a stroll on the beach is my all-time favourite way to clear the head. So there aren’t many days that you won’t find me on one coastal walk or another with our little pup Ronnie.

We are incredibly fortunate when it comes to our local beaches. Compared to other UK beach destinations such as Bournemouth or Cornwall, you could say that the Isle of Man beaches are almost secluded. Even during our busiest months of the year, it’s easy to find a spot all to yourself.

Not only that, most of them are utterly pristine. By that, I mean little to no rubbish and sparkling blue water that invites you to dive in every time you look at it. Not to mention the diverse jaw-dropping surroundings that make each of the Isle of Man beaches unique and exciting.
