12 apostlesWandering Wives – Selling Everything
by the Wandering Wives

The older you get, the more things you own, or as some might say, the more things own you. We own an average amount of stuff; furniture for a two bed house, a lot of books, some art, photographs, DVDs and quite a few sentimental boxes of treasure. Many other travel bloggers will wax lyrical about how their journey is about living off the land, relying on the kindness of strangers, eating mushrooms in a hippy commune and proudly owning nothing but the shirt on their back (plus their smart phone, laptop, kindle, iPod, GPS, and digital SLR camera of course).

Kudos to them, but that is not what our journey is about, we quite like our stuff. If money were no object, I guess we would kit out a Winnebago with our lovingly restored shabby chic furniture. Adorning the walls with our art and photographs, leaving enough drawer space for all our clothes and Ikea bedding. The kitchen would have ample space for our Kenwood mixer, varying size loaf tins and our ever growing collection of Tupperware. However, like most ordinary travellers, money (or how to make it go further) is a pretty big consideration for us.

Hot Air BallooningTRAVELING IN OUR FABULOUS GAY WORLD: Hot Air Ballooning
by Donald and Ray

Hot air ballooning is not for us however we have a lot of friends who are really into it. They have hot air balloon festivals in almost every State in the country plus all over the world as well. The best place to start to get full details is www.hotairballoon.com. There you will find a directory and calendar of hot air balloon festivals, rallies and events.

Another great site is www.ballooncalendar.com/. Hot air ballooning has been around for a time. They began in the late 1700’s and have continued thru the years all over the entire world. Attractive aspects of hot air ballooning include the exceptional quietness (except when the propane burners are firing), the lack of feeling any kind of movement and the bird’s-ye views. Since the balloon moves with the direction of the winds, the passengers feel absolutely no wind, except for brief periods during the flight when the balloon climbs or descends into air currents of different direction or speed.

Wellington - Dolly GoolsbyNEW ZEALAND: Dolly Travels – Wellington, New Zealand’s Capital City
by Dolly Goolsby

I have to apologize. We were so busy during our last few days in New Zealand, that I simply did not have time to write without feeling rushed; therefore, I am writing about Wellington after I am back on United States soil. Nevertheless, Wellington is still very much in my mind. What a lovely city. We were fortunate that the weather continued to be in our favor. We had arrived in Wellington at night, so we were very happy to wake up to a beautiful sunny day for our tour of the city.

Aaron had arranged a tiny little minibus with a driver, to take us on our tour. As Wellington is a very hilly town, we soon saw the wisdom in that choice. First, we drove up to the top of a hill that can also be accessed by a cable car. From this vantage point, one can walk down through the lovely Botanical Gardens. We did not have time for that leisurely stroll, so our little bus took us down to the glass buildings of the gardens.Next, our driver took us up another very winding road to an overlook, where we could see the city and the Harbour.

Machu PicchuPERU: Carlos Melia – Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu
by Carlos Melia

Hi there everyone.!!!! I am back and with lots of new tips and information. I haven’t been lazy, I have been traveling extensively across Europe – France, Sweden, Finland, Russia and then all the way down to Peru in South America, exploring and gathering lots of facts to be shared with you all. Many haute experiences around the globe, always following my two main travel goals, which are, (a) experiential travel and (b) when I travel I spend my days as a adventurer and my nights as a Queen.

This time I came to one of my all time top items on my personal travel bucket list, Machu Picchu. I could not believe that after being in Peru and Lima over a dozen times, I have never taken the time to visit one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. But this time I planed my trip, with the expert help of both OUTAndes – local LGBT Tour Operator based in Cusco, and Orient-Express Trains and Hotels, with over six properties in Peru.
