Exploring Nice in the Daylight

Nice, France 0- Carlos MeliaThis is my third time in Nice, and this time I am only for 24 hours, invited by Le Negresco Hotel, on my way to my final destination for the next four days, Cannes. There I will be attending the ILTM 2013 – International Luxury Travel Market.

I decided to explore areas of Nice I haven’t done before, and a big pending on my list was to explore Colline du Chateau, Tour Bellanda and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the Baie des Anges from the top of the hill.

I decided to explore areas of Nice I haven’t done before, and a big pending on my list was to explore Colline du Chateau, Tour Bellanda and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the Baie des Anges from the top of the hill. What a day so far.!!!

I flew into Nice Cote D’Azur, in the French Riviera of France, directly from New York City. (8 hours flight). Arrived by 10AM on an unexpected, for this time of the year, GORGEOUS warm sunny Sunday. Checked IN into my Junior Suite at the fabulous and iconic Le Negresco Hotel on Promenade des Anglais. Walked by the beach along the shore facing the blue/turquoise waters of Baie des Anges.

Climb the stairs to Camin de la Courtina with breathtaking panoramic views of Nice. Walked around, enjoyed the architecture, went to the flower and fruit market at Opera. Had a love lunch at Chez Freddy. Walk a bit more back to my hotel, and now seating at my suite posting and blogging from my balcony overlooking Baie des Anges. And it is only 4PM.

Castle Hill is considered to be the cradle of the town of Nice, and old fortified site. Visit the Tour Bellanda, which was erected in 1826. You may climb the stairs to the top of the hill, right at the bottom of the very end of Promenade des Anglais or at Montee Lesage Camin duo Molou. Along the Camin de la Courtina, you will encounter the waterfalls and the cemetery while you enjoy the most spectacular views from Panomara de la Baie des Anges.
