Adelaide Feast Festival 2013FORGET about painting the town red, for the next two weeks Adelaide will go rainbow as the Feast Festival opens across the city. More than 2000 people are expected to join tomorrow’s Pride March from Rymill Park through the city to officially open the gay and lesbian arts festival, with a further 1000 attending the opening night party at the event’s hub, the Lion Arts Centre on North Tce.

Artistic director Catherine Fitzgerald said the program featured more than 120 shows across cabaret, live music, theatre, film and visual arts all fitting the festival’s theme of “gender: mix it up”. “We want to mix it up, play with it and sort of push boundaries and get people to think differently,” she said.

“Feast is a festival for everyone, we encourage as many people to come as possible because we showcase and highlight some of our best queer talent for all the world to see and celebrate.”
