Want to Get Married in the California Central Valley? | Looking for a Realtor in the California Central Valley?
Want to have a little weekend getaway? Try visiting Nevada City, the fall colors are in peak at this time of the year. Walk the historic downtown area and soak up the bright fall foliage.
Some ideas on how to get the most out of your weekend… start your Saturday morning at the Nevada City Farmer’s Market (Saturdays 8:30-12:30 through mid November), fuel up up a cup of Fable Traveling Coffee, a fresh baked goodie from Flour Garden Bakery and pick out fresh fruit and veggies from a number of local farms.
Grab a walking tour map from the current Sierra Food Wine Art free magazine and start walking the neighborhoods. My favorite street is Nevada Street, a long tree lined street with plenty of white picket fences and beautiful historic homes. You can make a loop out of the neighborhood or you can simply wander to your hearts content.
If you’re looking for a more active option, sign up for the new 5k/10k fun run “Falling Leaves”, Sunday, October 27th, the event benefits the local Nevada City Schools Foundation.
Perhaps you’re looking for a slightly more mellow way to enjoy the fall colors, stop by one of the many local vineyards and sample some Nevada County wines. Naggiar Vineyards & Winery has live music on weekends through out October.
Or if you can’t make it out to one of the 15 local vineyards, stop by one of the downtown tasting rooms. Nevada City is home to Indian Springs Winery, Nevada City Winery, Clavey Wines and Szabo Vineyards. All tasting rooms are open on the weekends with tastings, flights and wines by the glass.
If you want to enjoy the Halloween spirit of Nevada City check out the Haunted Nevada City tour, every Saturday night in the month of October at 7:30pm. The Miner’s Foundry Fright Night is bound to be a rocking time with Zepparella performing, Saturday October 27th
Halloween night in downtown Nevada City is always packed with candy enthused children, stop by the Outside Inn’s haunted pathway, just beware of the talking trees and gigantic inflatable cat.
Whether your fall adventure to Nevada City is a quiet walk to see the colors or scaring yourself in the infamous downtown haunted house, you’re bound to enjoy yourself.
The Outside Inn offers whimsical and unique themed rooms for your outdoor Sierra adventure. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood just a short walk from downtown Nevada City.
