One of the nicest and most interesting tour I did during my recent visit to St Petersburg, was the tour to the town of Pushkin (approx. 50 minutes or 25 km away from St Petersburg) to see the Summer Palace of Catherine The Great. The Rococo former summer retreat of one of the greatest Tsaritsas of Russia.
Stroll by the parks and lakes of Alexander Park, which is in between Catherine’s Summer Palace and Alexander Summer Palace. The palace was original erected for in 1717, when Catherine I of Russia engaged the German architect Johann-Friedrich Braunstein to construct a summer palace for her pleasure.
