From Verona to Venice

Our dear friend, Bella (Dolly Goolsby) is on the go again, this time in Italy. She has graciously allowed us to republish her travel blogs. Enjoy!

Gay Travel: From Verona to VeniceNow, on to the last of the “V” cities, for awhile anyway. We had a lovely last evening in Verona. We found a delightful little restaurant off the beaten track and inexpensive. The evening was warm, but not too warm, with a little breeze, but not windy. We saw the opera, “Carmen”, which we have both seen several times before, but never in such a great amphitheater.

We arranged with the apartment owners to leave around noon instead of 10:00, so we got to sleep in, then pack and got a taxi to the train station. We elected to take the Regional train instead of the faster train, to save a few Euro, so another hot train ride and 2 hours later, we arrived in Venice.

Thank you, Massimo, for directing us to take the Vaporetto 4.1 to Arsenale. That was much quicker than going on the Number 1 Vaporetto.
