Firenze and More

Our dear friend, Bella (Dolly Goolsby) is on the go again, this time in Italy. She has graciously allowed us to republish her travel blogs. Enjoy!

Gay Travel: Firenze and MoreCiao, Everyone,

I see I haven’t posted anything for a week. We have been busy, though. We returned to Florence on Monday evening. Tuesday evening we went to the opening of Danny Rock, a beer pub that had been restored by Jacopo Carli and his architect group. Very nice.

Friday and Saturday, there was a Wine Fest with venues all over town, music and wine tasting. For 15 Euro, we got a wine tasting card, good for 5 tastes, plus a wine glass, and a cloth pouch that hung around our necks to carry the wine glass in. Pretty clever.

Also included in that price was free admission to any of the venues. We got to hear lots of very good jazz over the course of 2 days, and only reloaded the wine cards once. Excellent wines from Tuscany, including Brunello and Rosso from Montalcino, where we had just visited.
