Ocean City, Maryland – A Great Hidden Travel Spot

Published Date Author: , August 23rd, 2012

Ocean City, MDSand, the smell of the ocean and Thrasher’s Fries beckons me to the beach before the hoards of people come here. Nothing like taking a break in…. (sorry Rehoboth, it isn’t you this time) Ocean City, Maryland. Being a former resident of Worcester County, the draw to Ocean City is a needed break and a chance to catch up with an area I haven’t seen in over 25 years.

I ventured to the Princess Royale Hotel on 91st street. Though there are many hotels and motels you can choose from, The Princess Royale is what I would consider a high-end property, and since I haven’t really taken a vacation since 2001, I thought I deserved a ‘treat’. Who knows if, as gas prices rise, I will be able to do this again anytime soon.

As I checked into the hotel, I was greeted by Front Office Manager Diane Anderson who treated me more like an ‘old friend’ and not as a ‘guest’ as other hotels do. My room, not standard by any means, has a king size TempurPedic mattress (so comfy), a kitchen complete with a big refrigerator and dishwasher, a nice size living room and is on the northeast end of the third floor with a great view of the ocean.
