Ocean City, Maryland – A Great Hidden Travel Spot
scott, August 23rd, 2012
Sand, the smell of the ocean and Thrasher’s Fries beckons me to the beach before the hoards of people come here. Nothing like taking a break in…. (sorry Rehoboth, it isn’t you this time) Ocean City, Maryland. Being a former resident of Worcester County, the draw to Ocean City is a needed break and a chance to catch up with an area I haven’t seen in over 25 years.
I ventured to the Princess Royale Hotel on 91st street. Though there are many hotels and motels you can choose from, The Princess Royale is what I would consider a high-end property, and since I haven’t really taken a vacation since 2001, I thought I deserved a ‘treat’. Who knows if, as gas prices rise, I will be able to do this again anytime soon.
As I checked into the hotel, I was greeted by Front Office Manager Diane Anderson who treated me more like an ‘old friend’ and not as a ‘guest’ as other hotels do. My room, not standard by any means, has a king size TempurPedic mattress (so comfy), a kitchen complete with a big refrigerator and dishwasher, a nice size living room and is on the northeast end of the third floor with a great view of the ocean.
