London is the place to be this summer–with World Pride (June 23-July 8) and the London 2012 Olympics kicking off on July 27. There is also the London 2012 Festival, which will run for 12 weeks, along side the Olympics until the last day of the London 2012 Paralympic Games on September 9. The Festival is billed as an “explosion of arts and creativity” and will be held not just in London, but throughout the UK.
According to BBC News, the Festival involves 25,000 artists from all 204 competing Olympic nations in 12,000 events and performances at 900 venues all over the UK. Many of the events are free.
