Nashville, Tennessee Welcoming Gay Visitors

Since the beginning of gay civilization (somewhere around the premier of the Wizard of Oz in 1939), we have held only two things we know to be the absolute truth: 1. Brunch is not only reserved for Sundays and, 2., Never visit The South.

Well, the times they are ‘a changin’ and urban areas, even in the Bible belt, are quickly becoming quite welcoming to our kind.

Take Nashville’s Convention & Visitors Bureau decision to tout the city’s rich cultural and musical offerings exclusively to LGBTers. Of course The Music City has always been a bit of a southern exception. It is an ideal destination for live music aficionados, who tend to be the tolerant sort, travelers with a soft spot for Southern charm or just those looking to bump into Taylor Swift or Nicole Kidman, who is married to local country music star Keith Urban.
