Traveling? There’s an app for that. Actually, there are tens of thousands. As someone who spends a good portion of the year on the go, I’ve put many of these travel apps to the test–and whittled them down to a list of my top seven favorites.
1. Roadside America. Looking for attractions that are off the beaten path? Roadside America’s database is packed with more than 7,700 quirky attractions and oddities all across the United States. This past weekend in the New York City, the app guided me to a loft filled with dirt, a giant gold Buddha in a former adult theater, and a super-endowed elephant statue. It’s a hoot!
2. Photosynth. Want to capture stunning panoramic pictures with your smartphone? The Photosynth app stitches together your photos to create beautiful panoramas and 360-degree views that you can share with family and friends. The images are breathtaking–and the app is free.
