Russian River Area Rebranding

Guerneville, Russian RiverRussian River resort-area business and community interests are so certain their towns need a new image that they’ve spent $177,000 in tax money for a new slogan and branding plan.

Henceforth, Guerneville and environs are to be known by the slogan “balanced. by nature,” a tagline accompanied by the words “Russian River” in stylized script and a drawing of two redwood trees.

It’s all meant to portray the area as a place to go to be rejuvenated in a lower-case sort of way. “We went through quite a bit of research to come up with the brand, we are going with the restorative message,” said Al Lerma, a redevelopment associate with the Sonoma County Community Development Commission.
